If "drugs" we're sold on the free market, or given out at clinics at cost, these thugs wouldn't have made the astronomical profits on the black market to buy helicopters and armaments. You win the war on drugs the same way we won the war on alcohol and gambling. You take the market out of the hands of thugs and lilly white drug launderes(e.g. House of Windsor, Bush Family, House of Saud, et al), i.e. you legalize it. Legal addiction is by far the lesser evil compared to illegal addiction which keeps the creeps prospering.

Yeah, lets put meth out on the free market so everyone can be stupid and stoned, no one will go to work, and kids will be pretty much orphaned, and every girl in their 20's will end up pregnant.

Brilliant idea asshat.

Here's my idea. Special forces reconnessance (sp?) locates all the drug factories and targets them, then we drop bunker busting bombs on them.

We win, they don't. No drugs, no one becomes a complete wastiod.

Hey idiot taxpayer (above). No one suggests selling dangerous drugs openly in superstores. The idea is to make them available from clinics where the addicts can be monitored and treated.
Drugs money fules so much evil in this world - legalization could help a great deal to solve the problem.

Yes yes so we can create collateral damage and pass it off as nothing and have more people pissed off at our country so more acts of terrorism come shooting our way.

As unpopular as this may be. The real problem is the long line of customers for these contraband products. We have so much money available for these products from lame people who think that taking drugs will diminish the pain in their lives. Unfortunately, most street drugs are way more effective at ruining your life than alcohol. So the pain of life increases and the slave remains chained to the source. Any soulutions that will work, need to be focused on the customer base, not on the supply chain.

I support Teen Challenge for just that reason. You fix lives and free slaves.

You would've loved the prohibition era. It was a simpler time with absolutely no crime related to alcohol, especially in Chicago.
Ahh. The good old days!

Our government at all levels have proven over decades they will not seriously address the domestic terrorists in the U.S. known as gangs. Why?

Last month a young man was murdered a couple of doors down from his house in Los Angeles. Did anyone get a load of the press conference with the chief of police? His condescending B.S. might as well have come out of the mouth of some corrupt tin pot chief of police in some tin pot dictatorship for all the good it did. He basically slapped the family in the face with all his babble. Why?

I think the gangs serve a purpose to the military/police. They keep the citizens in a constant state of fear and so we support the huge budgets that have turned our local cops into paramilitary forces on our own soil.

All this nonsense about how "safe" we are is so much B.S. if the gangs are not a target. Maybe that's why the framers of the constitution included the second amendment because sometimes we the people have to look out for ourselves.

Belonging to the KKK is an outrage but being a gangster is not. WHY? WHY? WHY?

I think gang affiliation should bring a 20 year enhancement to any crime. plus - gangsters should be in their own prisons. Let them prey on their own.

Love Defined

What is love, but an emotion,
So strong and so pure,
That nurtured and shared with another
All tests it will endure?

What is love, but a force
To bring the mighty low,
With the strength to shame the mountains
And halt time’s ceaseless flow?

What is love, but a triumph,
A glorious goal attained,
The union of two souls, two hearts
A bond the angels have ordained?

What is love, but a champion,
To cast the tyrant from his throne,
And raise the flag of truth and peace,
And fear of death o’erthrow?

What is love, but a beacon,
To guide the wayward heart,
A blazing light upon the shoals
That dash cherished dreams apart?

And what is love, but forever,
Eternal and sincere,
A flame that through wax and wane
Will outlive life’s brief years?

So I’ll tell it on the mountaintops,
In all places high and low,
That love for you is my reason to be,
And will never break or bow.
