Full story: BBC

I was there last July. Food and service was bad.
The worse part came when they handed me the bill.
They doubled charged me for some items. They charged me for large item when I ordered a small one. I asked them why. The manager said we have a minimum charge. This restaurant is a tourist trap where the Mafia is waiting for you.
My recommendation to any traveler in Damascus to stay away from this restaurant.

Shame on you for not clarifying that you wanted hot coffee. And why do you need silverware for coffee - maybe you were trying to steal the silverware so they didn't give it to you.

I have chosen this restaurant for my second coming on Dec 31, 2008. This time I'll turn water into beer and bring the message of party unto mankind. There will be a cover charge and 3 drink minimum.

Its a production mill, the owner even said its like a mini factory. They can't afford to hire top chefs to serve 7000 people, so you can expect the chefs to be your average worker who got a cooking lesson in an hour or so. So food quality can be at most decent, whoever said the food is good they don't know what good food is. Think cafeteria / food court food but on a bigger scale. Its more of a tourist trap, or local attraction.
