I remember WW11 well, I was alive during the Blitz. I also remember the US Government, sat on the fence until 1942, supplying war materials to both sides, at a profit of course, just waiting to see which side of the fence to jump. So do'nt try and tell me how the USA saved anybody. Pure corparate greed ruled then and does to this day.
Not to mention they did the exact same in WW1.
Had it not been for the fortitude of the British, American politians would have been quite at home doing business with the Nazi.

So by this stupid remark the US should have sided with the Nazis.

What if we had where would you all be today?

what about the "compulsory" offshore American Military bases - up to a 1000 reported globally -, the enforced missile defence shields that many over this way strongly oppose and now the use of drones. What about the extradition laws and new laws which entitle the USA government the lawful right to shoot to kill without any repercussions of breaking international law???
The "USA is a humanitarian cause" ploy is age old, the Iraq invasion a prime example, how did the invasion of Iraq help anyone? Other than the private companies who promised some shady deal to the then American government? The Iraqi people will tell you of their plight and suffrage since their country was completely destroyed and still continues to be a jungle of unrest.....
I am sure the mothers of American soldiers who died in combat will say the same, they gave their lives for a war for what???? What a waste of a young persons life....a great shame
The world doesn't want or need the help of the USA, the USA should help its self first, provide houses and food for those living below the poverty line in the USA, free education ,degree and masters level - this was free in Iraq even during the sanctions - for those living in the USA , resolve the economic and banking crisis in the USA rather than whitewashing trillions of dollars in over seas private ventures , which are of no benefit what so ever to the American people, who have poured their taxes into a system which is meant to reciprocate help to its own community...
Chris is correct the propaganda ploy is rife and you people need to wake up because you are the victims too... But so are those at the hands of unwanted "help" , those who have no voice, who have literally lost everything ... The very people some call ragheads and other derogatory referrals
Thought USA was meant to be civilised, however here I hear nothing other than arrogant, filthy, bigoted name calling which borders on dangerous and and extremely hateful ....this fills me with fear of what is to come ....
It is foreign views like yours and Chris that are making more and more Americans look to letting the world go f**K itself.

My personal view? I've done a small bit of traveling in the world while a US Marine. I saw things I'd never had the chance to otherwise. I met warm and friendly people as well as those who didn't think so highly of us. Over the years since I've watched world events unfold and came to the conclusion the world needs a timeout from the US. Pull ALL US troops from ALL overseas bases, close ALL airbases and naval ports/bases and ship EVERYTHING back to America. House the troops here, let them spend their paychecks HERE. Use the troops to protect and SEAL our borders. End ALL foreign spending. End ALL arms sales. Promote tourism at HOME. See AMERICA. Spend those tourist dollars HERE. Buy products MADE in America. Finally, move the UN to Europe somewhere and withdraw from that body of disfunctional nations. Isolationist? You betcherass.

I completely agree with you.... People over seas are not anti American, the Americans who have traveled you usually find have a more realistic grasp on world political events and the effects of US foreign policy, but what does rile most people is when Americans who have very little knowledge outside of their borders start dictating to others how they should live, how their governments should operate, their belief systems etc.... The world really doesn't need the USA to be it's police. As you said normal Americans would benefit so much more from the USA system from butting out of world affairs and looking after the American tax paying people... They deserve it, they pay their tax, why should they fund a war to benefit a select few, the very same few who have stolen millions through the American banking system ....

But the only people who ca stop it is the American people.... Who need to focus on what is going wrong at home, fight for what is theirs, demand the respect they deserve.....

So I agree it would be a much better solution... But it's not going to happen because it isn't going to suit the minority who profit in over seas conflict and over seas interest ...

Keep spreading your word,,,,, it is needed

Obama can't spend us out of debt. We're broke, busted, chapter 11, destitute, insolvent, panhandlers-that's enough, I'm getting cramps because I haven't eaten since the DNC National Convention went on the air.

The U.S. has about 900 military bases in about 140 countries. Many Governments have fallen, particularly in Japan and South Korea, over the promise to their people, to get rid of American basis. Yet, they are still there. Try to think how you would feel having other country’s military on your soil; and walking daily into foreign country soldiers. Would you feel at home? And would you feel it is a peace time?

All people are the same; they want to feel competent enough to resolve their own problems. But your Multinational Companies are very strong, and they want their Government to open up for them the new opportunities for making profits: new resource exploitations, new markets, new cheap labour. And sorry to say it, but none of that is good for ordinary people, but just for the Rich, who have shares in these companies. Yet it is the ordinary people, who fight these wars in foreign countries. It is up to the citizens to think, what is good for them, and for the country; and not only for a small minority.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Taurus

You have a very high opinion of someone today. In fact, you're really impressed with them and you'll probably sing their praises to anyone who'll listen. If you meet someone for the first time now, you'll be very impressed and this will never change throughout your relationship. But try not to idealize them into something they're not.
