Paraguay won't support film on Triple Border

Eds: APNewsNow. Will stand. Moving on general news and entertainment services. ASUNCION, Paraguay Paraguay's government won't support Oscar-winning director Kathryn Bigelow's latest reported project, a Film on the notorious Triple Border region that the country shares with Argentina and Brazil.

I would suggest that Kathryn Bigelow make a film about the USA.

Some places that come to mind for location shooting spots would be South Central LA, Detroit, various Indian reservations, rural areas in West Virginia, Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and last but not least metro Washington D.C.

She should stay closer to home and leave other countries alone.

When I heard about this film my initial reaction was that this was going to be a smear job in the interest of the US. The US would use this as propoganda and excuse for possible military intervention in the region. Paraguay is correct in opposing this project.

I've visited this area on the tri-borders and it is pretty wild. While it could be offensive to Paraguay, I think it could make a great movie. I loved Paraguay and its friendly people and hope to return soon.
