Could North Korea Hit the U.S. Right Now?

The nuclear standoff between North and South Korea is elevated to a new level as North Korea appears to be preparing for a long-range missile launch that could possibly reach the United States, according to South Korea's Yonhap News.

I think North Korea very well has the capacity to attack the U.S., or the Free World in general, with at least one nuclear weapon. The thing is that North Korea will not like the response the World will give back. But then brings up the question, if North Korea can do it, will Iran do it?

Do you people actually think the poorest most isolated country in the world poses a threat to the USA by way of a missile? Hmmm, guess you haven't seen the missile defenses just aboard a single US WARSHIP.

I believe in Democracy and support our President. He is doing a tremendous job and we have made great strides thus far.

Again, North Korea is trying to manipulate the international community. We actually need China's help to get them under control. I don't think China wants to see a nuclear missile blown out of the air on it's borders...and that is sure to happen if N. Korea would actuallly try to launch a warhead with nuclear capability.

Iran is a country with an economy, a government, a cared-for population, roads and electricity. North Korea is a hobby-country run by a despot whose council of advisors is his magic mirror. With absolutely nothing (of importance to Kim) to lose (except his patrimony), he is living his dream. This alone makes him dangerous. In trying to be a racketeer, he is sealing his country's fate.

We have nuclear subs all over the place in addition to stationary launching sites. One wrong move and we would be all over Korea like white on rice. No one in the military would say don't shoot, they're too close to China.

Scenario: North Korea lobs a nuke at Alaska. Within 4 hours North Korea is a parking lot. Do not mistake foreign policy with national defense. They are two very different things.
