The "tough gun laws" have actually increased crime rates in a number of ways. Now it is only the professional criminals who carry arms in suburban areas. Good news for the rest of us.

I think you're wrong. Professional crims are going to carry arms no matter what and if you have nothing to do with them, you don't have a lot to fear.

Can you imagine what the thugs would be carrying if semi auto guns were still in circulation?

As much as I hate to admit it, it may have been not such a daft idea to get those guns off the street after all. Handguns are the Mafioso weapon of choice and always were. They aren't easy to get permits to carry, but they are easy to carry in comparison.

You can still do some damage with a pump action shottie if you want to guard what belongs to you and yours.

Gun restrictions don't bother me too much personally. I have no pressing need for a sidearm.

It's definitely agreed that whether outlawed or not criminals and gangsters will obtain guns. As a result there are more gun crimes than ever before in Australia since the imposition of the Gun Laws caused by a single incident.(That was strangely perpetrated by an intellectually disabled man with the IQ of an 11 year old. The same perpetrator, who when appearing in court denied guilt but later the Court claimed had admitted guilt but without a confession? Yet to anyone who knows about fire arms the actual act carried out was very professional mostly by head shots with a high shoot to kill ratio of a professional.) Has resulted in the criminals possessing all the Guns and Law abiding citizens left defenseless. The only protection afforded is by the police who are powerless to stop the gun crimes and can only act after the event.

While Sweden requires all citizens to be trained, keep and maintain a fire arm has never had an incident.

Some people think guns have no place in a civil society. Doubtless this is true but do we have a civil society?

This is the truth of the problem these incidents are not the fault of guns. Guns do not act or think, the problems is with the human influenced by a toxic society. A Society with somewhat better social fabric like Switzerland has wide spread fire arms in the community and it has not resulted in a massacre.

These crimes occur in Countries where Government promotes social disintegration by promotion of the Gay agenda, rampant immoral profiteering by advertising senseless consumerism, dis-empowering the community by removing local power over development in the community, immigration used as a tool to increase markets for the large retailers and property developers while affordable housing vanishes for those wishing to start a family. Such, a toxic society aimed for the benefit of the wealthy and greedy , can only push our young to become monsters emulating the inhumane nihilistic society they were born into.
