Tamil Nadu Governor K. Rosaiah Friday urged the Indian government to impose economic sanctions on Sri Lanka and take steps to ensure that those displayed by the ethnic conflict there returned to their original homes.

Once the marks go the the Education Department and they mark it against the student, then the standardisation of the marks begins. If a Tamil gets 60 it is reduced to 40 whereas if a Sinhalese gets 40 its increased to 60. They match it against the students name. As in the South and in Colombo many Tamils children study in the Sinhalese medium. Originally they did this to escape standardisation of marks. The government got wise of this so now it is only standardised once the marks are matched against the name and not the language media. Similarly many Muslims in the North and East and in many parts of the Sinhalese south study in Tamil. So if there is a blank standardisation of the Tamil medium they also get affected. So it only done after the marks are matched to the student and the students ethnicity is verified .

The original aim of the tamil civil rights movement was to ensure equality and rights for tamils. That has been achieved now, and with all sri lankan people living together on the island there will be no more division, segregation or regional mistrust.

There are no more inhabitants at the welfare camps, all have been released and housing has been provided for most of them. Child soldiers and ex combatants have been trained or educated and released. Fishing waters are being secured for SL tamil fisherman who rely on them for their survival.

thanks for your effort to describe your own position. The actual statement given by the Honorable Governor is "measures taken by the Sri Lankan government were not at par with the expectations". That clearly indicates that there is a gap between what you have achieved on the rehabilitation and exceptions. It is the future which would decide what was the effects of the rehabilitation package.
i personally shocked to your know your remark on the Governor . just trying to analyse "Fishing waters are being secured for SL tamil fisherman who rely on them for their survival." should i conclude that you are referring to the rights if EElam tamils in those waters ? May be possible. if yes , than there is possibility that you are also not settling singhlee people in the north east past of srilanka. lets clarify though your are free not to give an answer as it would create further disturbances between singhlees and tamils.

What you find here is a bunch of diaspora tamils who claim to speak for tamils in Sri Lanka. They do not, if the last 30 years has taught us anything its that we will not listen to a group of foreigners who have no vested interest in improving ther lives of sri lankans.

The LTTE also claimed to speak for the tamils, and their diaspora henchmen made the lives of tamils a living nightmare by demanding money to fund the ltte.

The tamils abroad never stood up against the ltte, but now claim they they were acting alone without the support of the diaspora. That's bullcrap.

Now, we don't ask diaspora traitors for their support or approval. Sri Lanka does what she thinks is best for her citizens.

The issue if nadu fishermen is a difficult one, but we must protect SL waters to protect SL livelihoods. But diaspora tamils (and some of these fools in the DMK) want to claim our navy is attacking tamils.

It is becoming apparent that Daispora Tamils are less concerned about the reality for Tamils in SL and more concerned with punishing Sri Lanka for winning the War.

Sri Lanka has done the right thing and not responded to propaganda by the diaspora.
