There's no doubt the mixing of Western and Muslim cultures is causing a clash. Personally, I think most of the "conflict" is created by those who profit by it. Most people aren't hardliners. They are tolerant when shown tolerance. People want to be safe in their homes.

I'll bet being put on trial will get more publicity for Bardot than her original statement ever would have.
