Is this an April Fool's Day Column?
It must be if Abel Xavier - a likely candidate the worst center back in MLS is complaining. Who needs tactics when he's on the field?

sorry, but criticism from abel xavier, maybe the worst defender in the league, means absolutely nothing to me.

Abel Xavier should be happy to be getting a pay check.

That's pure gold from the human traffic cone known as Xavier. He might have lost his pace, judgement, and tackling ability but he apparently hasn't lost his sense of humor. To be as useless as he is on the pitch and still be able to criticize the level of play and refs requires remarkable chutzpah.

the galaxy would be better off playing with 10 men than having xavier on the field. when someone runs at him with the ball, he looks like someone nailed his feet to the pitch. if they did have academies, 12 year olds would run rings around him. Shut up xavier, and stop printing rubbish daily news.

Xavier and Cohen... two people who are the least qualified to judge MLS and ofcourse the two people willing to give opinons.

Xavier has had a bad season, that's a fact. But, then, again, Galaxy is not really a top tier MLS team at the moment.(don't care that they are tied at the top in the Western Conference, they are still awful)
MLS is learning, still very much baby steps, 13 years into its existence. Let them go to one table format, get rid of the playoffs, institute relegation/promotion with USL, and remove the salary cap, and it will be different. All in strides, one step at a time.
