Can we leave the Filatov story be? You are doing the team and the fans a disservice here. He is not the solution to the problems the team currently has. Filatov is a good player on an international size rink, where skating, passing and shooting are the needed skills. Those skills are not easily transferable to NHL hockey with it's smaller rink, and with emphasis on checking, and with goons on the loose. If the team is guilty of anything is that the leadership is terrible at managing expectations. Filatov was being pushed into something he is not by team leadership (not Hitchcock obviously) and media expectations. If he had had a chance to get used to play NHL style hockey out of the lime light, he would still have been here.

I stand behind my words-Hitch needs to go and CBJ needs to quit looking at has-been coaches. I hate football but look at what OSU did with Tressel???

Oh, by the way, Sell off hitch and Nash as a package. Maybe CBJ can get stimulus buks from the Gov't to help offset the losses sustained from that white elephant we invested in last summer.

Why do we keep drafting stick-handling Russian forwards if we don't want them to play that way?

Just go draft big slow guys who can dump in the corner and get skated past nightly...like we already have.

Any other 19 yr old would give up a kidney or left testicle to get the chance this kid got.

Part ways with the pre-madonna and get a kid with true guts who wants to earn a spot.

Please come back Filatov! When will Howson man up and dump hitch? Please come back Filatov!

Maybe when the corporate sponsors start leaving when the club is 25-60 this year we can dump Hitch

There's only one solution. Fire hitchcock!! Cause I mean it's clear filatov was the source of the high goal against right? Wait, you mean it hasn't improved at all since filatov left? Isn't hitch this great defensive coach? How are the jackets near the bottom in goals against?

Hitchcock's time is done and he should be fired and if howson keeps him then he's a fool and will be fired himself in due time if he costs the team filatov who has superstar written all over him.

I agree that Hitch mishandled this kid. Ovechkin was reckless on defense his first year too, would Hitch have scratched him? Probably, Hitch hates young players, thinks they should pay their dues and play his way or no way. Filly has exceled at every level except under Hitch.
