Good luck guys when the cartel puts you in their sights. Just give them the stuff without a fight and pray for the best.

"Greenway owner Lisa Molyneux said she hired Wade because she wanted someone "of his caliber" to run security."

-"Owner?" I thought this was a nonprofit? Wouldn't the term "nonprofit director" be more appropriate, Sentinel? I thought the state pot law required that they be nonprofit?

"Wade said he is looking forward to the garden, in part to limit support of illegal drug cartels that grow marijuana on public land. "Especially coming from former military, I want to make sure we're not aiding some cartel," he said.

-so they don't know if they're buying from the cartels right now?

Close Greenway. That place is ripping off patients. Letting them grow their own would just increase their profit margins and further rip off patients.

Some of the "patients" are just stoners who want a legal dealer, but there are a significant number who get legitimate medical benefits from marijuana. I hate that we have such a snickering, sneering mindset about pot. Why is alcohol so acceptable when its health and societal detriments are so well-documented? We are so backwards about pot in this country.

Greenway is a joke. Nothing but a for profit drug dealing operation. If you notice the people coming and going from the place, it's amazing just how many young adults seem to have serious medical issues........right.

what's amazing is that you have the time to watch and judge people coming and going from Greenway. Are you taking a private poll of some type? Are you interviewing them as they go in to ask them what their prescription is for? Are you so lonely that you have nothing better to do? or think about?

I think Scott Wade made a brilliant observation that most of us do not judge the people standing in the Walgreen's pharmacy line so you should be careful judging MM patients.

If it's a nonprofit, why are the prices of their product so much higher than the street value? Overcharging for "medicine" isn't very compassionate. That's what the for-profit pharmaceutical companies do.

Highly paid, easy work awaits you in sc selling RECREATIONAL DRUGS. Medical marijuana is the biggest scam ever.I'm all 4 legalization- but hiding behind the >4%(this a a NORML issued figure by the way)is a joke my MD doesn't allow me to pass up on commenting about. The only documented medical benefit of pot is increasing appetite for high sugar/fat foods and quantity, increase in cerebral and retinal blood flow, tachycardia and euphoria/dysphoria. Pot also is anxiolytic, but when patients quit- they get REBOUND ANXIETY with a vengeance...just like Xanax!LOL!
This organization must feel like home 2 vets- since they too are ripping off the paying public.Your 'top shelf' is B+,WET,rapid grow/chemical garbage weed for 65$ an eighth !!!!LOL!
A+,Organic, SC finest black market sells for $30 an eighth!!!!
NON profit....NNNNOT!LOL
at 300 patients a day- these guys are ripping off the public to the tune of a million dollars a year. And it galls me, that sc gets 9% of the 'reported'profits.
Get Real...and sc gets to play the fool to the national media again----for pennies on the dollar.
The real burn.....the 'bottom shelf' is seedy brown .Definitely produced by organized crime in Mexico. To say this brown garbage is SC weed , is destroying a national reputation for producing the finest herb on the planet.
THE ULTIMATE BURN- I suspect some of this weed is grown on our public parks....destroying the clean water and wilderness that makes SC so special.
THE ULTIMATE SLAP IN THE FACE BURN....I know for a fact, that over 50% of the weed produced is grown indoors with electricity.Over 55% of this nations electricity is produced by burning coal and tar sand oil...the dirtiest/most polluting, disgusting form of environmental degradation one might ever imagine.Next time they "LIGHT UP", I hope the user and our city government ponders the ginormous pile of dirty coal we all have to choke down to meet this highly psychologically addictive habit.I calculated it's in the realm of thousands of tons of coal, every year...just to power California indoor grows.
If you doubt the addictive nature of this 'harmless' plant...please talk to one of our many advocates who have been smoking it multiple times a day for decades....and yes...with a tissue persistence so high that over 50% of this highly fat(brain is mostly fat)soluble drug is in the system weeks after initial intoxication.
If you doubt the truth of anything I say(or want an honest advocate ) to run the medical pot BUSINESS, please consult the real local experts -Addiction specialist Dr Stein (or Valerie?, even though she's so brainwashed that this wolf wears sheeps clothing, that she'll try to defend >$500 dollar an ounce weed....even though she'd never be caught dead, buying her 'medicine' for this outrageous price.
I'm an advocate of complete legalization, and an advocate of vaporization technology,to avoid the toxic chemicals produced whenever any plant/cellulose product is compusted with oxygen(Toluene, benzene, napthal ene, sulphuric acid, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and all the many carcinogenic components of TAR(bezopyrenes, and too many to list-burn studies showed over 500 toxic chemical products in smoke)
YOU ARE BURNING ANYONE WITH A BRAIN, AND YOUR LIES AND UNSCRUPULOUS BUSINESS PRACTICES ARE BURNING THE WHOLE MOVEMENT.

Now if City Planning can do something about the RESELLING after they leave the dispensaries. It's around the corner meeting the homies ready to buy or transport or smoke right there in their expensive cars. What a scam. To be so profitable yet cost the city monumental funds in dealing with street drugs. Those dispensaries are not following their code rules. Maybe they have security in their buildings, but look around what's lurking outside, all over the whole area. Listen to the businesses in that area who are losing money because of all the losers, potheads, and derelects hanging around their businesses. I cheer Planning for not letting any more go in, but I would cheer even more if they would close those two and WAMM (yes, they dispense too) down. Our city would be better for it.

Which is why the great red states of Montana and Alaska beat California in overall drug use. And where does the majority of our meth come from in Cali? Good old red counties in the Central Valley. It seems conservatives use and abuse drugs as well. Just go ask Mr. Limbaugh.

My "real problem" is that Gang isn't as harmless as you think, DUH!
And BTW my "PeaceLovingHippie Parents are now BMW driving Yuppie Democratic Conservatives with brain damage Moderates who regret the drug culture that they raised me in. And are making up for it by raising second family within an Ultra Conservative Catholic Community (No disrespect to Catholics).
Unfortunately the damage has already been done. Just hope to educate parents that MaryJane isn't as benign as it may seem.

all med pot dispensaries in CA are supposed to be 501.c non-profit corporations. I wonder if Greenway is? IF so then we should be able to look at their financial books. Can we? I doubt it...

You did not answer the question. You only reinforced the reasons to ask it. Most adults work on letting go of their anger at their parents. You need to start that process or else you will never be able to discuss the marijuana issue in a rational manner.

I'm confused. I thought somebody above was complaining about the high price Greenway charges compared to the street, so why would anyone buy from Greenway to resell? How could they make any profit on that?

With regard to the businesses in the area having problems - that predated the MM dispensary opening. What else is down there that attracts losers and derelicts?
