Hollande rides zeitgeist as France embraces left
The man polls say has the best shot at becoming France's next president wants to hire thousands more teachers, renegotiate Europe's expensive, hard-won bailout package, and re-assess his country's role in both Afghanistan and NATO.

I predict that the pendulum throughout the west is about to swing to the left, in relative terms. The rightwing business lobby parties have messed up the economies and political life in too many western countries to survive further. The left just need to find the right leaders to rally the voters to the cause, because the timing is right-the zeitgeist is to the left.

Right wing parties in Europe have seen all their "sacred cows" failing under them: economic growth, expansion, free market, common currency, etc...
Now the public wants to try different solutions, out of frustration with the economic austerity imposed by the conservative class.
France maybe the first country to open the floodgates and renounce many of the EU principles.
