"foster dialogue between Muslims and non-Muslims"?
Obviously it has.
Only a totally clueless idiot would think a 'mega mosque' would "act as a bridge between Islam and Christianity".

Chislam is an Evangelical Christian concept to lead Muslims away from Islam. Similar to the Messianic Jews. Both are oxymorons.

They always say the mosque is a swimming pool, community center, bridge between the community, etc.

During prohibition a speakeasy was always called something else. When a thing is bad, you have to invent a fake name for it.

Actually, minarettes are not really evil. They are only evil when the awful singsong eminates from them when other people need to sleep. It is so inconsiderate and religion is no excuse for ruthless behaviour.

The prophet prescribed prayer calls when people had no clocks, now it can all be done in a civilised manner. The prophet never prescribed amplification systems and subjecting the rest of the population to that awful singsong at odd hours is a huge insult. Why do they come to the civilised countries but then bring their uncivilised customs with them to annoy other people. Religion is no excuse.

The main point with the mosques is, however, that they are a security hazard. They attract large crowds of males and one spark, another outburst of violence. I am no psychologist to say why these people are so irritable that they go off so easily after Friday prayers, but even if we knew the reasons, we might not be able to eliminate them.

You would think that praying has a positive effect on people, but no, not here.

Reading the article the row is not about anyone disagreeing about the Mosque being built. the row is money, and disagreements between the designer and the building contractors has to do with the color of the Mosque etc.

Wasn't the Cordoba Mosque in Spain turned back into the church it originally was prior to to the Moorish invasion?

>It was conceived as a project that would foster dialogue between Muslims and non-Muslims and act as a bridge between Islam and Christianity<

That was the pretext to push through this Turkish project at the "entrance" to the "Turkish Enclave" in Cologne, with the utmost help of foxy ex-mayor Schramma.

>is under threat after a prolonged row between its German architect and its Turkish developers.<

The other way around is correct:

"row between its Turkish developer (DITIB) and its German architect".

Anyboday who was against this mega-project was conveniently called a Nazi.

Yuck;(

You have a very high opinion of someone today. In fact, you're really impressed with them and you'll probably sing their praises to anyone who'll listen. If you meet someone for the first time now, you'll be very impressed and this will never change throughout your relationship. But try not to idealize them into something they're not.
