There was a recent report done by Sweden's parliament showing that the social benefits Swedes receive today are half that of 1975. Lots of folks are hurting, angry, and it's a lot easier to blame those that can't fight back rather than those that can. It is nasty, but as we see in lots of places, it is increasingly popular.

I won't mention that something not so different happened in the Europe of the 1930s, and history does show it didn't work out too well for anyone. But, I've yet to meet a politician that says 'it was my fault these policies have hurt you, I'm to blame', regardless of how much blame they bear. Though, perhaps the fact that one of the Parliament report's authors said the 'Swedish Model' is in the process of being dismantled says who's guilty, and it isn't minorities and immigrants in political power here.

Don't make assertions without explaining what you are talking about. In what way is it "political power".

It's a center-right government since 2006, and as the article said, they've privatized and deregulated faster than any other advanced economy on the planet. But, the article also points out that while Sweden's elite have benefited, many others have not; thus, the far-right growth. But if you read the article instead of just commenting, maybe you'd know that.

I won't add that some folks just like to sharply criticize, it making them feel and sound important.

The biggest problem with government funded programs is the total lack of transparency and tracability. Governments have no functioning system of accountability and no internal controls. It is so easy to steal. This is why you keep paying and see less. the money is being stolen.

Looks to me we are all in the same boat,in U.S. we are seeing the beginning of the end of the middle class, wages are in a rut. Working 60 to 70 hr week to get by and the rich get richer. Has any one out there had the unfortunate pleasure of being around rich people. I did mason work on a home and had to resort to the courts to get my wages. My view of rich people is that they are sick degenerates, money, power turns people into
Vile creatures with no compassion .everyone below them are to be exploited . Tax the hell out of them, let them pay for our infrastructure. Use them the way they use us.
