I am an American living in California and I have always cared about Germany and I study history, especially Western Civilization. I oppose the German constitutional court ruling that the German bailout of other EU nations' debts is legal if a Parliament panel, or committee approves it. That is rightfully for all of Parliament to decide and the ruling evades that necessity. The ruling enables Frau Merkel - I actually like her - to sidestep forming a coalition favoring her position.
Frau Merkel supports the EU having a common currency but a nation's real currency is its capacity to produce value, not an issue of paper with currency design. It is not a common currency when Germany must support the EU out of proportion to the value of the German economy. It is the German Mark disguised as the EU dollar and it places an uncommon burden upon Germany.
Frau Merkel says no two countries with a common curreny have ever gone to war with each other, but to equalize unequal debt by laying it upon Germany is the same as economic war that conquers a country by reducing it to lesser economies. I think Frau Merkel is a model German lady and I know she is very highly educated, and I like to watch her on Deutsche Welle, but if she persists in supporting Germany's undue burden in promoting European socialism, I must support her removal from office in the next election.
I also believe Germany and France should unite in upholding their national sovereignties and being friends according to the vision of Konrad Adenauer and the Steel and Coal agreement he advocated. I like the French despite their faults. All national peoples have their faults. I like the French spirit.
