Time for Israel to allow buses on the Sabbath | Seth Freedman

Apr 7, 2012 Full story: The Guardian

Israel has to get over its obsession with its religious character and be a country for all its citizens - including the non-religious and non-Jewish Walk around Tel Aviv on any given Saturday, and religious fervour is the last thing you'll encounter.

The nasty tone of Seth's comments cause one to wonder why this is a big deal to him who lives outside of Israel. Is there a bit of anti-Israel bias there?
I happen to think running buses on Saturday should not stop those who regard the Sabbath as holy don't have to ride on those buses on Saturday. There are many religious Jews all over the world who live in thriving cities and walk on the Sabbath to wherever they're going.

Israel need to stop base on religion.

Is anormal at 2012 to one country base on religion, on nation, on racial.

Israel need modernization, and all citizens to be equal, and everyone to believe everywhere want.

And Israel need to join EU and NATO, and EU need to become common country.

If Israel make this, Palestine will not become independent.

And can and other middle-east countries to join Israel.

Israel is a modern country.

Just like businesses in the rest of the world are closed on Sundays, Israel is resting on Shabbat.

When it comes to busses, It maybe good to make an exception, but don't expect the country to change it's entire lifestyle just because others don't say "amen".

All israeli citizens are equal as well, this has nothing to do with it, the government need to find and agreement which will suit everyone.
