US senators show path forward on climate

There are 4 comments on the news.yahoo.com story from Dec 10, 2009, titled US senators show path forward on climate . In it, news.yahoo.com reports that:

Senators unveiled a framework for future US action on climate change, embracing emission cuts in a boost for the Copenhagen summit, but also including controversial measures on nuclear power and offshore drilling.

Three senators across party lines offered an outline for future legislation that they hope to approve early next year.

Senator Lindsey Graham, a Republican who broke ranks to co-author the climate framework, hoped his colleagues would be enticed by nuclear power and offshore drilling. Senator Joe Lieberman, an independent who joined John Kerry and Graham, predicted that the Senate would reach the magic number of 60 -- the votes needed in the 100-member chamber to break through stalling tactics. "There are well over 60 votes in play," Lieberman said.

This bill is dependent on unknowns such as CCS technology. Not sure it will go anywhere. Note:some of the controversial parts, like 'offshore drilling' are likely to pass.

"Environmentalists gave mixed reviews to the framework." because things like offshore drilling weren't defeated on environmental concerns. They were defeated on ECONOMIC concerns about the few million dollars of oil found vs the multi-billion dollar tourist and fishing industries ( i.e beaches with tar balls).

But it gives away enough money to special interests to make it past Congress? That is new..

John,
There has been some email traffic in the last few days to a week - quite
a bit really, only a small part about MSU. The main part has been one of
your House subcommittees wanting Mike Mann and others and IPCC
to respond on how they produced their reconstructions and how IPCC
produced their report.
In case you want to look at this see later in the email !

Also this load of rubbish !

This is from an Australian at BMRC (not Neville Nicholls). It began from the attached

article. What an idiot.

The SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY WOULD COME DOWN ON ME IN NO
UNCERTAIN TERMS IF I SAID THE WORLD HAD COOLED FROM 1998.

OK IT HAS BUT IT IS ONLY 7 YEARS OF DATA AND IT ISN'T STATISTICALLY SIGNIFICANT.

**********

The Australian also alerted me to this blogging ! I think this is the term ! Luckily I don't live in Australia."

When are you going to post something that supports that claim?

P.S. your thousands of cut and pastes actually amount to maybe five different posts and you don't SAY anything in them. Any chance you will stop spamming and start thinking?

YOU CAN GET THE EMAILS THAT DERAILED COPENHAGEN and HUMILIATED INTERNET POSERS EVERYWHERE, BELOW: ARCHIVED ONLINE WITH WORD/PHRASE SEARCH.

Look for things like "decline" and "1998" and "fudge" and "hide"

Look for things like "JUNK" and "where is global warming?"

Look for Keith Briffa, Kevin Trenberth, MICHAEL MAN, Gavin Schmidt, PHIL JONES (since this was all on his watch)
