UK exports to the European Union were worth Ä12 billion in September alone. We gain much more from membership of the European Union than it costs us. The European Union is a great antidote to war. It also facilitates prosperous trading through its original mandate Ė the free movement of people, products and capital across all of Europe. Letís reform the EU rather than abandon it.

The world is going through an economic crisis, so it's perhaps natural for people to want to allocate blame. But the EU is the planetís largest economy, and when itís prosperous again views will change. If there's a referendum, I will vote to stay a member.
