I've lost track of how many "People's Power" revolutions you've had down there. Pray tell?
And your democratic Philippines is a lot more Corrupt than China.
The fanatic Filipinos are beginning to realize that religion is an addiction. The secrecy of telling stuff in the pulpit is no longer the norm. Man made figurines made by chinks is no longer treated as God. They have to hunt down the chinks though who made these figurines.

One party rule is what lead South Korea and Taiwan to Prosperity. It's also why Singapore is one of the ten richest countries per capita in the world. And the same in many Middle Eastern countries--Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, etc.
China's on the same track to prosperity.
The countries you mentioned are democratic countries and were supported by democratic nations. Their political, legal, social and economic system goes together with the rest of the world unlike China whose political and legal system does not jibe with her half- hearted economic liberalization.

Emirates countries are free economies.

The unsuspecting Filipinos buy their food in Chinese restaurants where the chinks put cancer causing ingredients like msg's, melamine and mercury. The Filipinos were taken advantage by these Chinese in their own land.
The Pinay that you encountered in Subic and Clark are low flying doves just like the doves in Brooklyn slums, Hainan's Sanya and Shenzen Nanshan district called "the farm".
The Pinays are the best though, they can speak straight English. They can even utter the word, Pleas....e ,sir?
"The farm"? Never heard of it.

Emirates countries are free economies.
Those Asian countries became prosperous under autocracy first and evolved to democracies later.
