The civilized world should sanction Russia so that it does not have the financial resources to have a Nazi like war machine to invade an loot Ukraine.

Let us no forget that Russia started WWII along with its good friend at the time, Nazi Germany.

Canada has a long history of fighting Nazis like these Russian Fascists. The Canadian public stands with Ukraine against Russo-fascist aggression. We fought Nazi Germany when it was allied to Red Fascist Russia, and we will fight a friendless fascist Russia now, if need be.

Most interesting question. Given that the Canuck military is a mere 75,000 strong force equipped with antiquated and obsolete equipment that's literally falling apart.

The F-35 which the CAF hopes to buy has proven to be a piece of flying junk.

Upgraded or not, the Canadian F-18's are obsolete 4th generation antiques compared to the Russian AF's 4.5++ generation SU-35 super Flankers. Which have long range beyond visual range targeting radar that would spot the Hornets long before the Hornets are able to see the Flankers.

In a within visual range dogfight, the Flanker with it's amazing 3D thrust vectoring capability would be able to turn the tables on the Hornet in a heartbeat.
Plus the Flanker pilots have helmet mounted targeting sights, which makes it even more easy for the Russian aviators to shoot down enemy jets, as they wouldn't need to stick to traditional 6 o clock kill zone approach. They just have to look at their targets through the display inside their visors to acquire target lock.

You should read more on the F-35.
