of course he is. he is running away from a rape charge. he belongs in the Sex Offender's wing in prison. he should have applied to South Africa, rape capital of the world. It isn't even a crime there, just like in Pakistan. In S Africa it is done for medical reasons, in pakistan for religious reasons.

No he isnt.!! He is being asked to answer ALLEGATIONS of a sex offence. No charges what so ever. As for running away, that is also rubbish. Julian Assange would be more than willing to go to Sweden to answer these allegations & clear his name, but he, & apparently everyone on the planet except you, know that the minute he sets foot on Swedish soil, the Americans will be there like flys around dog crap, seeking his extradition for the Wikileaks.
The Ecuador embassy has already asked both Sweden & America to give assurances that extradition will not be applied for, & neither will give it. Why , because they cant, & thats because these are fabricated allegations in attempt by America to get Julian Assange extradited because he has embarrassed them & they are smarting.

"Good" family man should not be accused of rape by not one but two women.
One may say it's nature and he is been set up. Do you really believe that.
I feel sorry for his family.

Of course i believe he is being set up, or i wouldnt have said it. It doesnt matter whether its 1 woman or several women. It does not mean that they have not been deliberately coerced by the American Authorities to fabricate stories so that they can then apply to have him extradited from Sweden.
The courts have been flooded with false accusations of rape for many many years, both here in the UK & abroad.
It was only months ago that the French head of the IMF was charged with alledged sexual offenses. What happened when it went to court, NOT GUILTY.!!. But by then, the poor man's political career in France was in tatters. Its the oldest trick in the book.
Do i feel sorry for his family. Yes, but because he is being persecuted for being an advocate for Freedom Of Speech & the right to disclose wrong doing by the powers to be, which is what Wikileaks did in America.
As i have said before, if he is NOT being set up, all America has to do, is simply state that they are NOT seeking extradition from Sweden. They cant , because that is obviously their clear intention.

And a very smart move by the embassy of Ecuador it was too.

In doing so they made it clear that the two issues should not be linked, and .......... by the U.S. government's (and mine) unwillingness to take up the discussion, they have (by default) admitted that extradition is at the heart of the matter - JUST AS WE HAVE BEEN SAYING ALL ALONG!

The title of this thread is claiming that "the Assange team" is attempting to deflect away from the case of sexual indescretion when in actual fact it is both the U.S. and Sweden who are deflecting the case against Wikileaks. Sort of like a cheater calling the other guy a "cheat".

VERY interesting.

By "many" I assume you are speaking of anything from 10 to infinite. Would you care to name just "ONE" so that we can carry that thought further?

Of course i believe he is being set up,

Say we both may find hard to fully trust this man but do you think his wife position is. Do you believe that she trust him? After all he does not denying having sex with the two women.

And the main question will be to answer: if his own wife cannot trust him how can we do?.........

Bradley Manning did trust him.

most people believe that. Apart from the Guardianista wimps and the rent-a-mob street scum who come here to riot every year, most people think he is a nauseating whining wretch who exposed a country's secrets for fame and money and let someone else go to jail for it. Now he is wanted on sex offence charges. Only an imbecile would trust this nonce.

So, besides "the Guardianista wimps" and "the rent-a-mob street scum" there is still a percentage of the population who agree with Julian Assange's work at Wikileaks?

I'm curious to know what other descrption is available for "the Guardianista" and "the rent-a-mob"? Do they have supporters - and are they called anything else besides "wimps" and "scum"? In your own estimate, what percentage of the population fall within the framework of these wimpy and scummy people? Could it be that they are actually the majority of the population? I don't mean to press you too hard but your use of exprssions such as "most people" and "apart from" don't carry much weight, and being given the choice of either denouncing Assage or qualifying for being an "imbecile" just seems a bit unfair. Don't you think so too?

Ok, where do we start.
Firstly, a " Nonce " by definition used in prison language, means or refers to someone convicted of sexual offences with children or minors. As the 2 females making ridiculous allegations against him are clearly adults, & , as i understand it, both former Wikileaks employees, the term " Nonce ", is stupid.
Secondly, by taking the actions he did, in exposing the Wikileaks material to the World, Julian Assange hardly won himself any friends within Governments, & put him into the situation he finds himself in now. If that is " Seeking Fame ", then its a strange way to go about doing it.
Thirdly, in all cases of " Whistle Blowing ", the person doing it, knows exactly what they are getting themselves into, & very often are doing so out of conscience. It has happened before, when Government employees have taken the decision to reveal sensitive documents etc, & they have ended up in prison because of it.
If Julian Assange had NOT revealed the information given to him by the source to which you refer & now in custody, then that person would have still been imprisoned, but for no reason.
This is why the press & media have a very strict code of NOT revealing their sources when information is given, unless there is a very good ethical & moral reason for doing so.
Finally, you say " Most People " find him a nauseating whining wretch.
In polls conducted for the press & media at the weekend, the following results :
In the UK. 78% for Him . 20% against . 2% Not Sure
In Australia 83% " . 10% " . 7% "
In New York 24% " . 75% " . 1% "
So when you say " Most People ", i assume you are referring to our friends across the pond, because clearly your comments do not apply here.
You have a nice day.

I think its important to say here, that when you listen to conversations & people talking about this, no one has a bad word to say about Sweden. If Julian Assange was able to come to Sweden for a fair hearing, without the threat of extradition from America, & he was then charged & found guilty by your courts, then i would be the first to stand up & say he deserves what he got.
But you have to ask yourself 3 simple questions :
1) Why wont America come out & say it WONT apply for extradition.
2) Why have Swedish officials refused to visit the Ecuador embassy.
3) Why did the British Government make such dangerous threats about entering the Ecuador Embassy to arrest him.

The answer to ALL the questions, is because America is the puppet master, pulling our strings. They are smarting over being caught out by Wikileaks, & are now stamping their feet like a petulant child, because they cant get their own way.
