President Paul Biya gives state workers reason to smile
The decree was signed on Friday 9th of March 2012. It sounded ordinary but to many, especially retired Civil Servant, it was groundbreaking.

This decision is salvation and will relieve many civil servants who had to go through thick and thin in the management of their careers. The ministry of public service and administrative reforms will stop being the “big daddy” it has been all these years

Giving the opportunity to each ministry to manage the careers of their personnel is an adequate and welcome decision. It will ease procedures and make them faster and yield more satisfaction and obviously reduce corruption. Networks had been developed in the ministry of public service and administrative reforms that slowed down procedures and kept many in permanent state of stress.
