The Toulouse Massacre: More Jihad Denial

Mar 26, 2012 | Posted by: Joe DeCaro | Full story: www.americanthinker.com

Every time a Muslim commits murder in the name of Islam, the denial begins again: Western leaders and the mainstream media tie themselves into knots trying to explain what happened without making any reference to its guiding motivation.

Last week was no different: Muhammad Merah was a self-styled "Islamic warrior" who killed a rabbi and several children at a Jewish day school in Toulouse, France, in an attack that the international media widely reported initially as having been perpetrated by a neo-Nazi. When it became clear that Merah was actually a jihadist, the predictable denial began: French President Nicolas Sarkozy said that the attack had nothing to do with Islam, and the call echoed worldwide not to allow the murders to harm French "pluralism" ...

from americanthinker:

"In fact, however, Muhammad Merah's murders had everything to do with Islam: he claimed affiliation with al-Qaeda and may have trained with the Taliban, both of which are explicitly and ostentatiously Muslim groups that justify all their actions by reference to the Qur'an and Sunnah. He claimed to be a mujahid, which is a warrior of jihad, which is an Islamic theological and legal concept. He killed Muslim soldiers who fought in the infidel military -- something that only someone who considered one's loyalty to the umma to trump all other loyalties would have done.

"Indeed, so grounded is Merah's massacre in Islam that it is virtually inconceivable that he would have carried it out had he not been a Muslim ..."

Terrorists may claim to act as part of a Jihad and use their religious beliefs as an excuse and a justification for their acts.

The fact is that in most cases, their actions aren't sanctioned by any islamic authorities; they are often condemned by Muslim clerics, and do not correspond to the teaching of the Koran.

The fact is that acts of terrorism have existed before the current wave of Islamic extremists, perpetrated by people who weren't Muslims.

In Britain, we endured 30 years of terrorism, bombings and assassinations in the hands of the IRA.

That, I don't know and I don't think it is relevant anyway.
But some IRA activists have hidden behind their catholicism to justify their actions.
Some catholic clerics have condemned IRA bombings, but some have show some sympathy for the 'cause'.
Some IRA terrorists who escaped to the USA received help, shelter and support from catholic clergy there.
But strangely, I have never heard demonisation of the catholic church...
That, and the many cases of paedophiles among catholic priests and bishops, uncovered in many countries.
But still, that hasn't attracted the same degree of vilification and condemnation as the Islamist extremists. A case of double standards maybe?

What about these qu'ranic teachings?

"Ö kill the disbelievers wherever we find them" (Sura 2, verse 191)

"Ö slay or crucify or cut the hands and feet of the unbelievers, that they be expelled from the land with disgrace and that they shall have a great punishment in world hereafter" (Sura 5, verse 34).

"Ö fight and slay the Pagans, seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem" (Sura 9, verse 5);

"Fight those who believe neither in God nor the Last Day Ö nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, even if they are the People of the Book (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizya (tax) with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued." (Sura 9, verse 29)

And donít forget that the Hadiths promise a special reward on the Day of Resurrection to any Muslim who finds and kills an apostate!

Of all the religions I have encountered, only Islam literally gives its followers license to kill.

This is similar to the different sects of Islam. There is NO denying Muslim radicals get their beliefs from Islam and believe they are just being good Muslims. We see Muslims from one sect claiming those Muslims who are of a different sect, are 'not muslim'. Yet they all are.

It's so easy to deny and condemn from the safety of their mosques, yet they do nothing to prevent their fellow Muslims from being able to interpret Islam in a way that justifies their acts of violence.

Since Islam is such a very confusing thing to understand, that so many tens of thousands of Muslims supposedly misunderstand it, maybe they should work on THAT.

Al-Jazeera in Paris has received a disturbing video footage of Toulouse massacre shot by the gunman himself, the French police said.
Reportedly, a computer memory stick containing a montage of horrifying clips accompanied with readings from the Koran was sent to the TV channelís Paris office. The package has been posted on March 21, the day before Mohamed Merah (23) was killed by French police in his flat in Toulouse after a dramatic 32-hour siege.
During the siege the self-confessed 'Jihad warrior' told the police he was responsible for killing three unarmed French soldiers, three Jewish children and a teacher. The footage showing the seven killings is believed to have been taken by a camera slung around the Merah's neck. Some media reported the package with the video also contained a letter purporting to come from al-Qa'ida.
Reportedly, Al Jazeera has no plans to show the films but had probably retained copies.
"It's a video montage of the various killings set to music and readings from the Koran," the source told AFP, describing the footage as "sufficiently explicit".
Meanwhile, Merahís father announced he is to sue French authorities over his sonís death, saying they could have chosen to capture him alive.
"France is a big country that had the means to take my son alive. They could have knocked him out with gas and taken him in," he was quoted saying by AFP. "They preferred to kill him.
"I will hire the biggest named lawyers and work for the rest of my life to pay their costs. I will sue France for having killing my son."
Merahís older brother, Abdelkader Merah (29), has been charged with complicity in the murders and theft, and involvement in terrorism. So far he denies all the accusations as well as being proud of his brother.

It seems it's a problem for you since it's your religion that allows you to think you cam make false claims or make outrageous statements with no proof.
