I agree that the West should back Assad! He is a saint compared to AlQaeda.

The only reason the west can't back Assad's plan for a transitional democracy is they've already rejected it and are unwilling to lose face. Instead, they've decided to throw the dice with the rebels who's ranks grow more extremist by the day. That plan may not cause the west to lose face but what earthly good's a face if it ends up rolling on the ground, along with its head?

The west is on a route to suicide.

The best laid schemes o' Mice an' Men,
Gang aft agley,
An' lea'e us nought but grief an' pain,
For promis'd joy!
(The best laid schemes of Mice and Men
oft go awry,
And leave us nothing but grief and pain,
For promised joy!)

When its over they will pretend it never happened.
I've lived all my life being what wasn't.
How can that be , aren't we allowed to be anything that isn't Jewish.
Apparently not.
However at the end of the day it all comes out in the wash.
You just wait and see.
