At least three of the activists are known and veteran anti-communism Hong Kong permanent residents. That explained why both the Flags of the PRC and the ROC were flying high on Diaoyu Islands.

It is well known in this part of the world that Diaoyu activists have long been blocked by the Hong Hong, the PRC and Taiwan governments. This year's successful landing on Diaoyu Islands was due to several factors, the first hurdle is the failure of the Hong Kong Police to stop the boat within the Hong Kong territories.

The first expedition to Diaoyu Islands from Hong Kong was 1996, and
Mr David Chan Yuk Cheung, a Hong Kong permanent resident, was drowned while trying to land on the islands.

There was a memorial held for David Chan in Hong Kong's Victoria Park attended by 50,000 people afterwards. I was there.

Dude... Hong Kong should of stopped you. You are doing something Illegal.

Landing people on a disputed island and complaining about how those people got arrested, and then protesting it? You guys are stupid.

Illegal is not the appropriate word to use on the matter, as the islands are disputed.

I know that the islands are under Japan's control, but it was due to collusion between USA and Japan using the San Francisco Treaty (1951) and Okinawa Reversion Treaty (1971) to achieve it. The ambiguity was created because Uncle Sam can get a let of benefits from the civil wars and later frictions between the PRC and the ROC. Both the PRC and the ROC do not accept the two treaties.

Moreover, say, you have a plot of land owned by your family since 1403 and it was stated so in a book. The land has been taken by someone while you were young and did not have enough muscle, your objections have been neglected for years. One day, one of your family members went back to the land and was taken away. Do you accept the claim that your family member was illegal entered in your land?

You had better explain that to the next group of Taiwanese activists going to Diaoyu Islands.

This afternoon, I went to the anti-Jap protests here in Shenzhen. The procession stretched for 8 kilometers, lined with spectators cheering them on. I'd say the whole lot for the 6 hours protest consisted of 100,000 people, the biggest anti-Jap protest I've seen in Shenzhen in years.
