Cardinal Pell says the confessional must remain sacrosanct. I say if that means that the confessional is to hide acts of sexual abuse then one of two options should be instigated.

Firstly legislate that such confessions must be reported to police otherwise the priest hearing the confession becomes complicit or, secondly, make it illegal to hear confession altogether.

Perhaps there needs to be a "war on pedophilia" across Australia. Statistically children are more likely to be victims of a pedophile in their own community or church than be attacked by terrorists or be involved in a car crash.

a war on homosexuals & their supporters would put an end to the pedophile problem, seeing as children are the homo's preference!

The majority of pedophiles are heterosexual.Groth and Birnbaum (1978) studied 175 adult males who were convicted in Massachusetts of sexual assault against a child. "None" of the men had an exclusively homosexual adult sexual orientation.

The ABC reported this morning that child abuse is far more prevelant in the general community than is admitted. The majority of victims know the predator.

I have to agree with you there Elias.

Your previous admissions on topix that you perv on your friends young children supports that theory. Do they still invite you over? Or are you banned yet?

Are you researching for a future defence Elias? Or do you still hold your racist views about the Superiority of the SOUTHERN INDIAN MAN?

How is the job at the post Office going BTW?

He's not "ashamed" at all, he's shitscared of what's going to be revealed as he's not without blame. He's said that a "Royal Commission is not warranted and will open old wounds for the victims". If he had any compassion at all he'd know that for the "victims" it will be the huge relief of closure... but I'm sure he does know that.

Pell's had umpteen chances to do something effective but instead he condoned shifting known paedophile priests all over the parishes (even overseas to continue offending) when it got too hot for them in their own parish.

It should be because it's 'child abuse', psychical and sexual.

I reckon this Royal Commission will snowball into abuse of all kinds in all institutions and homes. And what about the sex trade?

There should be TWO Royal Commissions, one exclusively into the Catholic church, and the other to cover all the other child abuse offences.

The "sexualising" of children is something that needs to be addressed asap in all its forms.

There's a very thin line drawn between what constitutes child abuse and what doesn't.

Some confusion here. The government is careful not to draw the ire of the Catholic church. So the royal commission is being designed to be across the community.

The actual issue here is George Pell covered up sexual abuse and there is legal testimony from a victim who swore that Cardinal Pell was present during a meeting to investigate his molestation. Pell only recommended the priest be moved and no further action be taken. Pell today claims he was not in the country and accused the child abuse victim of lying.

What happened to your job Elias? Was your Post Office closed?

I guess from your point of view the role of Merchant Bankers must seem like a mystery, almost black magic and voodoo, and the things we do totally unfathomable. So I understand why you try and reduce what we do to very simplistic terms that you make hope to understand.

However I do not wish to further confuse an already confused and addled mind, vainly attempting to explain such a complex and technical field, to someone who has trouble remembering their own IQ, so what figure is it now Elias? Do you refer to the cheat figure or the real? Or has your flights of fantasy, as to your (superior Southern Indian)intellectual abilities rendered the current systems inadequate in describing how wonderful you are?

No worries Peter, I bow to the superior individual. I envisage you are not only wealthier, better dressed and smarter but probably better looking than me. But why your highness did you not grace this forum for 12 months?

Strange that your appearance earlier in the year and re-appearance coincdes with the university calendar. Hmmmmnow the plot thickens....PhD? Uni Syd...Anu...is that you...

LOL, did you recommend Rambo as a historical figure to the Modern History Dept?

I do recall you boasting about a Bio-Med background, so the story changes again Elias????

Or did you deliver the mail to the local primary school and they let you decide what was junk mail and what was not?

You seem to be very consistent in being inconsistent with your stories about yourself Elias. I now tend to automatically place everything you claim about yourself into the BS basket.

LOL, Actually Elias, I actually have a job and a life, and also a fairly good memory. It was actually about 5 months ago I last posted, and I do not have the time to devote to TOPIX, that you obviously do. I find it a little sad that you seem to be a perpetual poster here.
