I agree with Prime Minister Bruce Golding that not a dime more for sugar.
I was brought up in the sugar field , my dad had about 10 acres of sugar cane land and he was able to grow gugar cane on those few acres of land . He fed us , built a house and sent us (his children)to school, so I don`t see why the government keeps spending billions of dollars at a lost instead of making a profit from the sugar industry.
What the government needs to do is to least out the sugar land into 10 and 20 acres lots to the small farmers and they will cultivate the sugar cane. That way the government will be making a yearly profit from renting the sugar lands. Another thing the government should do is to drill cannels from the rivers and trap the water then sell it to the cane farmers for a profit. and also buy cheap fertilizaer and sell it to the cane farmers.
