Gee, I notice that when it is an american (white) person causing trouble as happens quite OFTEN, nobody is making comments. People only make comments when it is a hispanic peron. and they are on here nice and early too making sure they put the hispanics down. americans know how to do it!!!

Can you imagine the uproar that would have ensued if the women were hispanic or black? The server would probably crash with the blogs being flooded with accusations of racial profiling and discrimination.

One less public defender us taxpayers have to pay for. Not to mention the 30 years of food and clothing we would have had to pay for after the sentencing...Amazing how a 10 cent bullet can save thousands of dollars...
I beg to differ

Half the comments made when a minority is involved are made by minorities - screaming racial profiling, discrimination, etc. Not hearing them today. They can't claim discrimination by the FPD.

Wasn't the last time Fitchburg police used deadly force just 5 years ago or so? The same basic idea, some guy crashed his car then tried to ram a cop with it?
Good shot

The State police used the ten cent method as well on that guy. Also saving us taxpayers tons of money.

I was thinking the same thing Ken, but I also remembered this person was killed by a state trooper so perhaps they're right in their response.

The Sentinel says deadly force hasn't been used in Fitchburg since the 70's...doesn't say FPD or State, but they did shoot Preston Johnson (i think that was his name) on Salem St. 5 years ago as he slowly drove around the hood. It was Trp. Donald Gray as I recall...who had something else going on at the time that was questionable. Anybody remember those details?

why do police have to shoot to kill? Deadly force and car chases are not acceptable.

I wasn't there to see what happened and I do not know the whole story. Did they try to shoot out the tires of the car? Was killing a woman really necessary?
