I arrived at an open call with doubt. I didn't know what to expect or even if I could trust Keen, but I figured I might as well try out because you never know until you try something. I made the audition and was signed onto their agency. My pictures are so good that I will even use them as my college senior pictures. After only being signed on for about three months, I landed a job. It was the most fun I have ever had! My foot is now in the door. You never know where life is going to take you until you put yourself out there.

my daughter was "chosen" by this company. We paid for the photos and have never heard from them again. Only given access to a list of open calls that is available elsewhere anyway. The website does not show clients which should have been a red flag for me. Have only seen annoucements for more modeling auditions to sign more people to the agency. How many do they need?

Wow. I can't even comprehend how people don't use the proper contacts to research on The Keen Modeling Agency. It blows me away. It's okay to be skeptical, that is what makes us human. But without doing the proper research, you are still left with the skepticism.

The Keen Modeling Agency is legit. I hope everybody who has ever heard of this agency is conducting their own research. Because it's important to do research before you go and make uneducated comments on the internet and Topix.

This agency has got me auditions for hair shows. If it weren't for Deborah Keen and her fabulous team, I wouldn't have heard about any hair show, casting auditions, etc. I am a very happy model at The Keen Modeling Agency. I am very proud to be represented by Deborah Keen. I believe the team is helping me a lot. Thank you so very much to The Keen Modeling Agency for being there for your models.

I was chosen to be one of the models but unfortunately I didn't have the $350 for the sitting fee and I also ran into transportation issues. I would like to know what I would have to do if these two issues are resolved so that I can model for Keen.

Also I would like to know if Keen has any internships for people who are interested in working for the company.

It was a great pleasure to meet you Deborah and your assistant. OH and THANK you for choosing me.

Has anyone gotten work wrote:
I see a lot of comments from people calling this agency a scam, and I see the owner of this agency working feverishly to defend their agency but what I have not seen anywhere on the internet is ONE "model" who is represented by this agency claiming to have received any work after shelling out all of this money for photos. I have never seen a reputable agency spend so much time defending themselves. If you're a successful REAL agency that finds work for its models, why are you so defensive? Shouldn't your record speak for itself? This kind of behavior is a real turn off for me, a model who has worked in the NYC market for years and has now moved to NEPA. If some kid has something bad to say about Wilhelmina or Ford, you don't see the owner of these agencies spending their precious time fighting with people on the internet. Why? Because they're busy finding models work. Think about that people!

Hello, I've been signed to the agency for over a year and no I haven't been called for any work. Obviously because I don't meet any of the clients needs. However, I had saw that they're was a casting call in Pittsburgh I think for a movie. I live in Lancaster so there was no transportation trouble. I called in to get more information and was told they would call back. Never got that call. There are tons of negative comments about this agency, most I don't agree with. Yes, this agency is legit. It's been proven. They're definitely not a modeling and acting school. People are going to have negative comments to say Mrs. Keen, and as the owner it's normal to want to defend your company. But, sometimes it's best to let people talk and ignore it. It shows your doing something right at times. As a signed model, the only positive comment I have to say about the agency is, 1. Your a legit company and not some "school". The negatives I'll keep to myself. Because maybe I'm just getting impatient. But, not returning my call and getting my hopes up, just to bring them down was upseting. To the negative people, you'll never know the truth about this agency until you find out for yourself. Reading comments won't ease your curious mind at all.

I have on countless times put my information on the form to contact me and the error message says please put a phone number, did so and still would not let me through to give my updated information.
The Webmaster needs to address this issue for it would make it easier to communicate with the agency.

keen is a scam. she spends more time and energy defending this company than she does getting up and coming models work. She is an unprofessional BULLY. Warning she is prone to have a psychotic fit on the phone so prepare yourself. Her attitude is discouraging and anyone thinking of pursuing a modeling career should consider another company seriously.
I have worked with Keen Agency, Inc. for several years now and I can assure anyone that it is most certainly NOT a scam. I do hands on work getting models jobs and those models are absolutely thrilled. The people who work in this industry and who we can get jobs for are those who have a positive attitude and are willing to work their hardest. Those individuals are successful and pleased with our company.
However, the woman who made this post has brought nothing but negativity to the table since she has singed with our agency. I am only exposing this information because I believe it will help others to better understand us. This woman had a balance with us. The payment for her photos was overdue, and when we began taking the payments for the photos from the credit card that she provided to us, she became upset. We do not send photos until we receive the full payment. We just received her full payment on the photos and sent them out, and she is upset that they have not come in the mail yet. She is a confused individual and we are very upset about how she is slandering our name. We sincerely hope that her confusion and misplaced anger will not affect how you view our service.

While I applaud your efforts, please know that I am not a "fan" of these internet sites that host unproductive "nonsense" and I do not frequent their presence unless I receive a notice, which half the time I ignore at this point.

WHY? How come you just didn't call my office? Why post this? You do not need people knowing your personal business. I am here to help you, however in the future, keep your business and information which you share private and for yourself. Too many people are exposing things that no one has the right to know or should be involved with. I understand this is the
"new" generation, however, I just want to protect you and your own well being.

Call my office tomorrow. I will help you.

KEEN AGENCY IS A SCAM! DO NOT GO TO ANY OF THE CASTING CALLS!! TAKE IT FROM SOMEONE WHO GOT SCAMMED, save yourselves! Go to a real agency! They ask for money for a portfolio (YOU DO NOT NEED TO PAY FOR PICTURES IN REALITY!), so of course people will buy it thinking they will get somewhere. This is how they make their money. I'm infuriated with such SICK people. MODELS- NEVER go to a agency that holds meetings in a hotel!

Scoffing;
The Keen Agency, Inc. does NOT charge people for "training" or other miscellaneous fees. All models need photographs and that is done the their expense. Models have the right to use any professional photographer they choose who works in the modeling and acting industry.
Perhaps you should get your facts straight prior to making uneducated comments about the industry and The Keen Modeling Agency.

Hi Deborah!
I am thinking of attending one of your open casting calls very soon. I know you say that models are required to have professional photos of some sort if represented by you to be advertised on your website. I am aware that you say we (models) can go to another photographer of our choice if we do not wish to work with one of yours for the fee of 300$ or so. My question is this: Why are the models required to pay for their own photos? My close friend who lives in California went to a major Agency there and they provided test shots for his portfolio free of charge. He has required many jobs including a defiori cologne add. All well paying jobs. And he recieved them from those test shots the agency set up for him(no charge). So again I ask why is there no free test shooting in this case? Why are models responsible for payment?
Thanks!

I received a report from the Better Business Bureau on The Keen Agency, Inc. It was refered to by a family friend, who is a probation officer. So when an officer of the law refers to the legitimacy of this agency, you know it's the real thing.

And to everybody who thinks it isn't let me assure you it is. It is a new agency. And it's people who accuse this agency of not being legit who are scared to take risks.

I think it is not fair on the owner of the company to make false accusations. She has every right to document it with the corporate attorney. It saddens me to think that people have a right to say slanderous things about the agency when they don't have the proper information. It's wrong of them to do that.

One, freedom of speech. Can't sue someone for calling you a fraud. All you can do is prove them wrong.
Two, nobody would ask for 349 dollars... even for a discounted price. Plus, why would the photographer care about one dollar? Why not an even 350?
Three, if you're the so called CEO, why would you drive instead of fly?
Last, but not least, it's really pathetic if Cha-Cha says you're a scam.
Oh, one more thing. You're a fraud.
As for REAL agencies, look up Elite Modeling agency. They're definitely legit

Plus, if you so called opened your agency in 2009, why is there a posting on answers.yahoo.com about a Keen Agency newspaper ad dated on June, 2006? Back then it was 250 though. I guess inflation got yah, huh? Have a great day!:-)
