Reading comprehension problem? I think this is a much needed service in this area. Everyone complains about the high teen pregnancy rate, but OH NO! Don't locate in my backyard! How pathetic. The address hasn't been released, yet everyone assumes it will be a "store front" location. Most buildings on Main Street have more than one floor last I knew.
Most of Fitchburgs problem is because we have so many of this type of places in Fitchburg that it's been proven it destroy the property valves of the area. Why not go to Leominster. Better choice, next to the highway, Oops I forgot they know better than allowing this type in thier city..

Just drove by CVS's new mega drug store on the way home and it occured to me, is Planned Parenthood the CVS, Home Depot or Walmart of the teen sexuality - pregnancy - birth control, whatever service industry. Is it that the area really needs the service or has the service marketed the area? Do they have a Wal-Mart style expansion plan - probably you betcha. What other long term services and people that have operated sincerely in the Fitchburg with less fanfare will be displaced? Do we really need a Planned Parent franchise - chain outfit to handle these sensitive topics?

Not at all. What have I said that would lead you to that conclusion? I'm interested in hearing your view.
But you have continually presented yourself in such a fashion in this forum that you expect others to do your research for you. Hence the lazy tag.
When one doesn't have an intelligent rebuttal they will often resort to ad hominem attacks.
Now, think logically......
Do you honestly think that if I called PP, and asked them if they would be "servicing" illegals, that they would give me an honest answer??? Please, this nanny state services everyone, including criminals
Just pathetic.......more anchor babies coming your way sad.

This facility needs not come here, people have PCP's for birth control, screenings and questions.......utilize them.

Hey Poop,
Many people in Fitchburg absolutely believe in helping those that need help...the issue is that Fitchburg ALREADY has enough social service outreach programs. We have ALWAYS done MORE THAN OUR SHARE of taking care of the needy.
It is just being questioned as to why do we need yet another social service program in Fitchburg. How many of these programs exist in Westminster? Lunenburg? Sterling?
You're not being completely fair here.

Planned parenthood is not on any Main street in massachusetts. Worcester is 5 miles from there Main St.
I think it is a great idea if they have a very professional sign and they are NEVER to perform abortions there! There needs to be community involvement that involves these young girls!
The FPD is so ANTI-SOCIAL that the sense of community is lost! Nobody wants to interact with them, they are extremely rude, ignorant and completely arrogant. The station looks like a dark unsafe dungeon!
They don't even have a sign like most cities; they are hiding in the shadow; the ironic thing is most of the big weight drug dealers and gun runners operate within a two block radious of the place.
Young kids in Fitchburg don't want to grow up to be police; why is this? Go to crime ridden Boston and ask a classroom full of kids what they want to be when they grow? They will tell you Police,Fire fighters, doctors and lawyers!
The police are looked at in this city as "the poison"! They put forward this "Us against you" mentallity! We need to fix this department first!!!! Nothing positive can happen in Fitchburg until we rid this department of the corrupt crooks that operate out of it!
You should consider running for Mayor...

Deep down inside his heart lurks a malicious, bitterly envious creature wholly in the grasp of the compulsion to control and get even with all authority.

Oh NO Kevin, Fitchburg will miss you! Your personal threat - to move, if women pursue their personal right to choose what happens to and in their bodies - has moved us all and...hahahaha, nah. Go move, because nobody cares if you stay or go,'cept you. I'd rather know that women have access to affordable BC in all of its forms, as well as therapy and addiction treatment; who cares if one more opinionated dude stays or goes? You'll just be replaced.
Why is it always the men who have the strongest objections to abortion? I guarantee you that if guys had to birth (or not birth) children, abortion would be written into the Bill of Rights.
Kevin from Fitchburg wrote:
There has to be a strict policy and contract with the city that there will be no abortions performed in this facility ever!
Wow, I think this is a risky venture for the city to allow a license to operate on Main st.
I like the idea of an educational facility for teenage girls and young adults.
I would have extremely strong objections along with most likely moving out of town if they offered abortions! This would completely ruin Fitchburg!
Main st is the focus of a city. The Mayor and others on the license board must be involved with the creation, size and colors of the sign for this business!
We need to bring accounting firms into Fitchburg as well as arcitectual firms. We need a highly visible professional atmosphere on main st.
I have no political position on abortion. I would never suggest it to anyone and I would always try and talk people out of it but I feel the decision belongs to the parents.
It seems like they will be offering counseling which is great. I hope there will be no protest on Main st.
I think Fitchburg offers a highly affordable office space for professionals and the arcitecual feeling to the other is attractive.

Aaactually, most of Fitchburg's problem is that it's Fitchburg. Sorry, but when your rivals are washed up factory and mill towns, your town has seen better days. The only way abortion comes into this is in a very elementary school, "use-it-in-a-sentence " way, as in:

"You might want to consider an abortion before bringing another child into Fitchburg or Leominster" or "Have you seen Fitchburg lately? What an abortion!"

Is little Johnny turning out to be quite a handfull? Is sweetie Cindy still wetting the bed at 4 years old? Does it seem like having a child is cutting into YOUR personal time? Have no fear and keep voting for a Democrats. If all goes well you will be able to have that baby killed up to the age of five legally! Remember, no one should have to go through life putting a sobbing little burden in front of important things like a Starbucks frozen mocha latte.
