West Manheim bans sledding on popular hills

The snow might come, but the sledders better not. In a 3-2-vote Tuesday night, the West Manheim Township supervisors voted to ban sledding on the hills that surround the Baltimore Pike municipal building that formerly was home to West Manheim Elementary School. Full Story

Now we have to ban sledding because of some fuddy duddys? First it was bikes on sidewalks, skateboarding, skates, etc. These will be the same people that will complain that their town is overrun by druggies when kids have nothing to do!

We must have read different articles. The one I read banned sledding for liability issues, damage, and trespassing, it didn't ban sledding because of "fuddy duddys." I can empathize with these folks as far as trespassing, I have the same problem, and when you confront these people (mostly kids, but some adults as well) all you get is “one finger salutes” and verbal assaults. If people actually respected their neighbors and their property this issue would never have come up, but because parents haven’t instilled any sense of right and wrong into their off-spring (and in some cases themselves), it is what it is. Just saying…

If people wouldn't press charges for every little thing, we could still have fun in the snow

If people didn't sue for every little thing, we wouldn't need to press charges for every little thing. See the irony? If I let you "trespass" on my property and you get hurt, I can be forced to pay for your injuries. If I post my property and through due diligence notify people they are trespassing then I might win against your lawsuit. Now, if more people were reasonable, and you were trespassing and hurt yourself, but you paid for your own costs, then more people would be willing to overlook things, however, that is definitely not how it works in today's world.

I blame the current judicial system and the judges for allowing those types of cases to be heard...

Enjoy the snow while it last's. I guess the children will need to get a sleding video game.

Maybe Wii will add a balance sled to their wii fit plus. You can aim for someones tree so you can collect money and earn more points.

In the 50's these PC (__*__) would have been run out of town. No one would have believed this.

They shouldn't have been allowed to breed back then and the definitely should not be breeding now.
