As someone who has been a snowmobile enthusiast for 40 years I find this use of law enforcement a total and complete joke. I've been using aftermarket exhaust in PA and WV and have never had any trouble with the law. I have rode in groups with State Police and Game Wardens in PA without incident. I want to know what the big deal is here with aftermarket exhaust and what tree hugger from New York came up with the law??$600 Fine?? Whats the penalty for running straight pipes, 20 years in prison??

I used to live in PA. I watched the kids riding their sleds on the roads at 60 MPH in developments. I watched kids on sleds driving recklessly. I used to have to listen to th esleds with loud exhausts. And he's proud of that?
That's why nobody from around here would want to even THINK about snowmobiling in PA.

You couldn't even come close to the JOY I feel being an "X-Vermonter", or as I like to call it, "Little Russia"!! I guess that's kinda like an insult to Russia, they're better off than Vermont....

Super cops giving out outrages fines and setting up check points for crimanals that are out for a couple hours of riding on there snowmobile.75% of millions of people that drive on public highways drive across the center line, mostly in left hand turns.Do they get tickets,NO.Check registrations in the parking lots and leave the people on the trails alone.

You are all clueless! Buy your VAST stickers, register your sleds, and keep them legal or stay in you own state. It is that simple, those that complain are the ones breaking the laws. I will bring my family to ride sleds any day in VT, the trails are great and for the most part the riders ride safely.

I to, do not condone kids riding in the streets and have never seen that in my area...
Guess you lived in an area that didn't have modern technology,(PHONES)...
I would have called to cop's in a heart beat if it were my area... As for the noise, my Cat has full race exhaust and is no louder than a brand new Harley if not less. I also love the way you have decided the entire population of Vermont would not consider snowmobiling in Pennsylvania.
"News Flash Grumpy Old Crafter"
I've seen them down here and damned if they didn't have modified exhaust... Oh, and it was in the mountains and not tearing down the street in front of my house.
You must really get peezed when somebody fires up a chain saw in your neighborhood!!!!!

That explains that...
Patrolled by the Regional Police Department around Pocono Summit, Tunkhannock and Coolbaugh townships...
That department was almost tripled in size in the last few years...

When I lived there (Effort, PA) it was the State Police out of Swiftwater that patrolled the area.

The Poconos is overrun by city people. An if yoo don' tawk like dis, YOUSE GUYS got a accent!

When I moved there in 1983, the local school system (Pleasant Valley) had 1200 kids. When I left, it had 7,800 kids. Pocono Mountain school district had 11,000 students! And more Noo Yawkas are moving there every day. The Crips and Bloods are REALLY in Stroudsburg, not some wannabees like here.

I LIKE being up here where it's quiet.
