I wish they would of had more of a variety of dogs. What about designer breeds? Just because they are not acknowledged by the American Kennel club doesn't mean there isn't pure breed designer breeds. I have one and it cost me just as much for there show dogs. All I care about when buying a dog is if it's pure breed. So designer breeds should have been there and not just back country working dogs. Boring.

Don't get your panties in a wad because your peek-a-poo or labradoodle wasn't shown the proper 'respect'.

The tone of your comment strikes me as exactly what's wrong with selling 'purebreds' today; confusing value for price. While there's nothing inherently wrong (ooh, bad pun) with breeding for a desired working trait, it's the epitome of pointlessness to breed solely for the sake of saying you have a 'designer' purebred. Frankly most of those designer breeds, including toy breeds are worse than cats. At least cats can catch a mouse.

And yes, this is from someone who has had 5 purebred working dogs, the last 2 from rescue groups. Bleh.

By definition, there is no such thing as a purebred cross breed, and designer dogs are just that, cross breeds. The fact that you drastically overpaid for a mutt shows that A) the free market is alive and well, and B) there's one born every minute. No pedigree, no written health guarantee, no history, and does not true breed (i.e., the offspring will be different from the parent). In short, you have a dog no different than my mutt, who I wouldn't trade for any best in show.

But mine was free. Because I'm no fool.

You reveal your total ignorance with your comment. As others have commented, your overpriced designer breed dog is still a mutt. I have nothing against mutts - I have had many in my lifetime, but a mutt is still a mutt. If all you care about when buying a dog is that it is "pure breed", you were duped.
The Humdog expo had a wonderful assortment of breeds represented.
