I'd love to insult you all day, but I have some cold beer waiting. Yes, drinking a cold beer at 9 am is more satisfying to me than making you feel dumb. Good day. I think you can still go to the local library for free. Just a thought.

All I know is they better not force a tax on the people. We should not have to bail this team out. If they leave so be it.

Yeh I probably don't want to respond about INTTELIGENCE, or grammar or spell checking with you anymore. LOL You are a riot and a moron with an obvious drinking problem.

I'm not even from Ohio. I just happen to live here. I'm a sorry Bears fan. I also go for the STL Cardinals. And although I'm an Illinois fan, I don't believe they're good even when they are good because the Big 10 is so over-rated in the first place. My teams suck this year too. But at least I have the nuts to admit it.
Dude, you think you've got it rough? I'm a freakin Cincinnati Reds fan, for crying-out-loud! And I even have the nuts to wear my hat and T-shirts in public!

Man, it would be such a relief if I didn't have to hear about the effing Blue Jackets all the time.

It's on the radio. Who on earth sits there and listens to a hockey game on the radio??

I remember when they came to town. All of the sudden the radio just starts screaming at us HOCKEY!! HOCKEY!! HOCKEY!! YOU'RE A HOCKEY TOWN!! YOU LOVE HOCKEY!! HOCKEY IS IN YOUR BLOOD!!

And much to my surprise, people started regurgitating it. Suddenly my friends were saying things like, we're going to go out and watch the Blue Jackets game! Why, because your radio told you to?

I thought it was idiotic, and that's when I assumed they made a bunch of money.

The commercials are nauseating. Taking pride in a mindless, advertising-driven obsession coupled with some of the worst writing I've ever seen or heard in a commercial. "Let's go Jackets."

Having the Blue Jackets disappear would be like having a neighbor's air conditioner unit suddenly turn off in the middle of the night. Because, I didn't really care about it, but when it's gone I'll be saying, "Man, that was loud, and irritating, and I'm glad it's gone."

When schools are run this way, everyone's solution is to cut off funding. But a bunch of twenty year olds beating the crap out of each other in an arena - YAY!!!

End transmission.

You're right. I should stop now. It's evident that having any interaction with you my friend, has indeed, made me more dumb. Thanks a lot. By the way, as far as my drinking problem....I'll have to tell you that I don't have any problems at all at drinking. Go Bears!

I really feel your pain. Had the Reds played all year like they did at the end of their season when it was too late, my guess is that they would have been World Series contenders. Maybe next year. Phrase of the century, especially for the Cubbies.

If you look at the last 10 years it's the same for the Reds. Play .500 ball till the break, sell your best players, play horrible till september, call up some rookies that'll hit .400 in september and work your way to 10 games out from 25 games out in a month. I've given up on them.

I don't think you should give up on them. They're bound to get their heads out of their a s s e s. My Cardinals seem to play great most of the season and always choke in the playoffs. I'm not giving up on them until I find out that #5 has been caught using performance enhancing drugs. Until then....Go Cards!

I agree. OSU is all this place knows. They think they're so great because they can beat up on non-ranking teams that are no better than most high school teams. Without the Buckeyes, this place would be total chaos. The only other place I've ever been that is this bad is Lincoln, NE. Their lives revolve around college football too. At least their team is better than ours!

maybe the money Nationwide has saved by not giving raises and laying off people and stripping benefits to the bare bone could be put towards this Blue Jackets deficit.

Dear ssd,

Who cares about soccer? The entire world minus the US. It is the most popular sport in the world! There are also a ton of MLS fans in this country and Crew fans in this town, myself being one. Not to mention the Crew is one of the only Ohio teams that has had winning seasons lately not to mention they were champions last year and had the best record of the league this year (2nd year in a row)

I can't figure out if soccer is popular because the rest of the world doesn't have enough coverage of things like the NBA and NFL or if soccer is so unpopular in the US because soccer doesn't get enough coverage here? I want to use the low scores to make an argument but I love hockey also. Imagine how good USA soccer would be if our best atheletes played? Could you imagine Reggie Bush and LeBron James on a soccer field?

Lol at comparing CBJ to Ohio State. I'd say you're comparing apples to oranges, but you're not even comparing food to food there. More like apples to mufflers.

For those crying, "If it was OSU..." It's not. End of story.

Here's the real problem. There's 40 home hockey games a year, plus playoffs (maybe). 40 events in a 12-month span isn't great.

So they have to attract other events, concerts, shows, etc. But they're competing for these shows against the Schott, Lifestyles Pavilion, Crew Stadium, and the Cleveland/Dayton/Cincinatti venues. Unfortunately, there's only so many acts that can ensure a profitable show in their arena. And a lot of BIG acts will only do 1 show in Ohio, be it Cleve, Cincy, or Cols.

So there's an actual point being made, not mindless OSU vs. CBJ screeching.

The best thing about Nationwide Arena are the concerts that sometimes come through there. Soccer may very well be popular in other countries, but this isn't one of them. If it were, then the teams wouldn't be comprised of over 90% foreigners. Even when they have a winning season, it's like trying to get excited over some schmuck who bowled a 300. No one really gets that excited about it. Probably because we have better sports to watch. What's the American past time again?? Think.

The Blue Jackets are leaving because of the casinos. They want to get out of town before the city is over taken by psycho lunatic criminals and wild crazy prositutes.

Net Guru,

I think soccer would be more popular here if it got better coverage but also if we had the history that countries like England have some of their teams have been around since the early 1900's.

SSD,

Actually the MLS is not comprised of 90% foreigners. They are only allowed having so many non-Americans playing on a team. Yes America's past time is baseball but the worlds past time is soccer/football/futball....rea l football not American football.

I know that no matter how much I say that no one here is going to be converted to a soccer fan. I just wish more people would give soccer a chance in the US and in cities where we do have a team and damn good team at that.
