New recreation fields, courts proposed for Tyngsboro

Officials looking to boost recreation opportunities in town are putting the finishing touches on a proposal to bring athletic fields and tennis courts to the elementary school.

Great idea, build the fields and charge the kids to play on them. Why put money into athletics program when you are cutting it's head off anyway?

why are cpa taxes that i pay used to pay for school improvements, i already paid a share of the football field and useless track. i thought it was a land conservation tax, now it is a school and empty building tax- tyngs ctr is an embarassment

the CPA is used for many things - open space is one of them... the cpa money is being used to create much needed fields in the town. The CPA has guidlelines that must be followed - it cant go to pay for salaries - town or school -

Right now the elementary fields are nothing but dust and rocks - very dangerous to the children who play on there.

If you have questions call the town hall and ask

the fields are also not part of the schools; yes the kids will use them when school is in session, but I believe they are managed by the rec department (just as the rec department manages Pierce Field --. At least the fields will be used and not just sit there like the other buiildings in town.

This is a Rec Dept request, not the School Dept.
