Its good to know that he is growing from this tragedy and striving to make something of himself, I wish him all the best.

What a terrible story, he sounds like a real head case. Was it really necessary for Snow to pick this guy? He's "ready to put it all behind him."? I don't know if that's the appropriate response to give after his undefensible actions killed a young man. It shows a real lack of remorse and thuggery. I hope this bum fizzles out and we never hear from him again.

Mighty nice of him to put it all behind him. Just like the family of the kid he killed can do, right? Yeah, he wasn't trying to hurt the guy... a wrestling move to drop the guy on his head with your full weight will only tickle him. If this was the US court system I think he'd be in jail. Go somewhere else murderer.

A young Latino brother lost due to this white jock who thinks he's above the law. He should have handled the headlock situation when it happened. Not kill the guy afterwards. One year for killing someone?

He's going to live with it for the rest of his life, while most will not agree, that's probably enough in of itself. Not saying the whole thing is not tragic cause it is

It's funny how fast people are to jump to a judgement. The ones who are wishing bad things on him. Have any of you read any articles on this besides this one??? I have and the kid that died parents didn't even want charges against him they actually pleaded to the judge to drop the case. Also the witnesses were split between what happened. Also this kid didn't make one quote in this article. only his lawyer and father did. so how can you say he's not remorseful by something another person said. From everything i've actually read about him he's a really good kid that just made a very bad mistake in the heat of the moment.

What do you expect from a Cablevision owned paper? When all the Heatley to the Rangers love was written by Shill Zipay, was there any aknowledgement of Heatleys' transgressions?

Just want to add that Staple is a joke as a hockey columnist and if you want to read a true hockey writer head over to islanderpointblank and read Chris Botta stating that the young man who died had a severe concussion a mere weeks before his death that prompted a doctor to state that the youth should have gone 1 year without physical sports...but what do you expect from a Dolan ran company?

I think you're missing the point. A jury who sat through the whole trial and listened to all the evidence convicted him of manslaughter. Stop defending him and calling him a good kid. I think the jurors are more familiar with the case than you are. How would you feel if it was your son who was killed? I know you would be willing to forget it as long as the perpetrator could be a good power winger for your team.
