And people want to know why our children are so obese these days and our air is so polluted??? Make a bike lane so bike riders and skateboarders can continue to ride. Tell the merchants to look both ways when coming out of the stores. These are customers that are bringing them money!

Skateboarding is not a Crime!
This is completely barbaric. Southern California banning skateboards and bikes? Unbelievable. Have they ever heard that some people actually RIDE their BIKES to WORK?? Remarkable.

It works like this. A bald fat guy got elected to the council, he owns a crappy bar on Riverside Avenue, in what is euphemistically called downtown Rialto. He claims that skateboarders and bicyclists pose a threat to the hordes of shoppers crowding the sidewalks while shopping at the endless variety of shops and venues.

Right...

What is really happening is that the bald fat guy, is worried that a skatebarder is going to collide with an intoxicated developer dropping off payola at his bar. Give me a break.

You could fire off a cannon at high noon the day before Christms and not hit anybody but the afore mentioned developer.

Glad to see somebody is rising up against the skateboarders 'bout time. Thanks, Rialto. Maybe other communities will follow your lead. Skateboarders are a problem, especially around traffic. There's nothing scarier than a board getting out from under its rider and into a lane of traffic. Been there, done that. Confine the skateboarders to a skateboard park. Period.

Apparently, now you cannot test ride a bike at Don's Bikes since riding in a commerical parking lot is ILLEGAL. How FAR are the city managers in Rialto? Must not be able to enjoy the freedom from gas guzzlers - too bad! Bunch of fat @@@ hipocrites (OR is that HIPPO-crits)?

Since Don's is at least, partially owned by a Rialto department head, I doubt there will be any enforcement at all.

What is next no walking on the side walk? Does this include street cart vendors who sell ice cream and other food out of their push carts? I see them on the sidewalks more than I do bicycle and skateboarders. What is the point of having a sidewalk? What kind of work are people doing on the sidewalk anyway? I thought a sidewalk was for pedestrians to have a safe passage off of the street. If working people are on them where are we supposed to walk and or bicycle ect.. Is there a plan to have a lane for skatboarding and bicycles? For some people that is their only mode of transportation. Are you concerned about them?

Everyone is entitled to their oponion and mine is that be it a skateboard, bicycle, rollerskates,cars... they are all a mode of transportation. Some more fun than others, but still a way for pepole to get from point a to point b. Try looking up the statistics of the probability of a skateboarding accident on the street to a car accident on the street. Obviously you have a personal hatetred for skateboarders. Someone may have that same feeling for cars but hey, we can't send all of the drivers in californa to a driving park.

I have no problem with people on bikes. But I have yet to meet a skateboarding kid who wasn't a jerk about it. They act like they own the sidewalk, cutting in and out of pedestrians like they are playing some kind of game.

But where is Eddie Scott during this vote? Does the guy ever work for this city?

"Eddie" is tottering around downtown, looking like the big shot he is. But what about those big, white bicycle shaped bike racks cemented into the sidewalk on Riverside? Perhaps they should be shaped like a developer with a briefcase full of cash. Just lock you drunk developer to the rack and take the cash.

No one in Rialto government knows the seven pee's (7-P's) to success.
Prior proper planning prevents piss poor performance.

Well I don't know where the heck these kids are supposed to get a break! Over the weekend my son got a ticket for riding his skateboard on the street near the curb not on the sidewalk. It's really ridiculous!! He wasn't doing tricks or going in and out of traffic, he has been taught to stay off of sidewalks to be mindful of pedestrians and now has a sitation! And this happened on willow ave passing etiwanda not a major street! Boo for Rialto pd and the people who make it wrong for people to ride!!!!
