GAA for Mase in 2011-2012 - 2.78, Dekanich - 2.89. Playoffs here we come.

That may be, Joe Schmoe, but hopefully if the CBJ can get some D in front of the goalies that GAA will drop for both of them.

I like Dekanich's attitude and unlike Mase, he's had to work to get where he is, but with the likes of Conklin, Osgood, and Lalime still unsigned, any of those three would have been fine established veteran netminders on their way towards retirement to guide Mase back to form.

At any rate, I hope Dekanich shines and puts the heat on Mase. He had to know another bad year and he's done. What was that George Bush once said, "Fool me once, shame on your, fool me twice...you can't fool me again."

Mason hasnt had to work to get where he is? I find that hard to believe. Mason is just better than Dex and he was at a younger age. Doesnt mean he didnt have to work.

What I meant was Mason had his job handed to him. He hasn't had to put in the effort to work his way up. Plus, Mason wasn't necessarily better than Dek at the same age. Fortune favors the lucky, Mason came up in our system when we had 0 depth at goaltender and the man of glass Pascal got injured forcing Mason into the starting role ready or not. So no he didn't have to work to get where he is now, he had it handed to him because there were no other options at the time. Don't get me wrong, I like Mason, he's shown what he can do, but he doesn't show the work ethic or desire to get better (ie showing up to training the past two years overweight) that someone who's had to work their way up an organization that has a knack for picking and developing goaltenders (Nashville)

What I find intriguing is the attendence of Ken Hitchcock... Have the Jackets found their "Senior Adviser"?
