Can you see any other reason for someone putting the family name on wine except profit? I can't ,and because of the issues with abuse of alcohol in the family, why would they support it? Makes me shake my head.

Profit is the bottom line, that's reality. Gallo wine is a family name and there are many other family names on alcohol. Guinness Stout is from Ireland and hundreds of years old, that was their name. Taylor wine from New York, the list goes on.

There is also family names on businesses, it's no different.
My opinion is this....I do not go to bars, I do not get drunk but I like to have a glass of wine after a long day or with a good meal.

You cannot stop the sale of it. They tried during Prohibition, it didn't work. You will always have people out there that spoil it for those that don't abuse it. One little example.....I am a responsible pet owner, I clean up after my pets, I do not let them go into other people's yards but because there are irresponsible pet owners that ruin it for people like me I have to pay extra at hotels if I want to take my pet....if I can even find one that allows pets.

Anyhow, just my opinion.....

My family has a long history with abuse of alcohol . Nothing good ever came of it. So to me promoting it is something I would never do. Smh

I to have alcoholism in my family. My uncle died when he was 47 from pyrosis of the liver due to excessive alcohol

And it's good you stay away from it being aware your family seems to be at a higher risk for alcoholism.

Unfortunately we can't stop all the evils in the world. We can try and we can try to control bad situations the best we can. But to deny someone something because you don't approve is not right either...unless of course it is illegal and pure evil.

Hope you are having a good day. It is a beautiful summer day here.

Hi Lola, Yes my cats LOVE it when I unload the dryer. I pile the warm clothes on the bed and they burrow under them.

I have a sister that is 5 years younger than me. She is a nurse at a state hospital. She has 3 children. The oldest is in Afghanistan. The good news is he will be home in a few days. I pray for the safety of those still in harms way.

We also have a pellet stove and in the winter I line their beds around it and that's where my cats spend their winter.....in front of the fire. Ha!

Good to hear Daniel is doing well. Mine are all fine, too.

We had a lot of rain earlier too. We needed it. It has been a cool summer.

Take care, Lola.

Thanks Lola, about the time I say everything is okay it won't be. So I'll just so...so far so good. Ha! Computers, at least with me, can be funny.

School will be starting soon here. The teachers are already back This summer sure did fly by. It was very nice here, not hot and humid like it usually is.

I wonder how Maggie is? We haven't heard from her in awhile. She is probably busy with her work and her new puppy.

Well not sure I will do today. Probably some work around the house.

Have a good one....

Ignorant "christains"! try reading the Bible !! Everyone in the Bible drank wine - including Jesus. Paul reccommended it "Drink a little wine for thy stomach and many infirmities" Whiskey is strong drink. It amazes me how ignorant so called christains are of the Bible.. Try reading the entire thing.
The wine of the bible was not the 14-18 percent alcohol that today's wine is. It was fermented just long enough to eliminate the pathogens of the time. So the argument that Jesus drank wine is irrelevant. Perhaps one should actually understand history and the Bible when reading it before posting an anti Christian rant. No one ever said you had to be educated to use the internet though.

Perhaps your dummass should figure out why everyone was drunk. Stupid, stupid, stupid. You idiots vote for anyone who claims to be a Christian whether they are or not. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

Proverbs 20 "Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise." Obviously there are other Scriptures that say differently. And there are some exalted characters in the Bible who did not abstain. So I guess that's why some Christians nowadays drink and some do not. Some take real wine with Communion and even give it to children as young as 2 or 3 years old (they call this "Paedocommunion.") I have seen young children locally drink wine during Communion AND drink the leftover wine after Communion and act very tipsy while spinning and dancing. No one at the local Reformed Presbyterian church seemed to mind it.

To each his own. If the Duck Commander wants to sell and drink wine then, by God, let him. Who's to say he is more (or less) Christian for it?

Not me.

And that's a fact, Jack.

You insane people will make up anything. Drinking is not a sin. True, some people can not handle it, but Jesus drank. Drinking is permitted in the first and original Christian religions. Get over your ugly, frumpy selves who have nothing but regret for your crazed fundamentalism. Sad, sad, sad. Your husbands dress in style and check women like me out. Yep, they close their eyes and think of those hot chicks in the mall with every orgasm. So sad. Your marriages could be healthy, but you refuse to live life. Go get psychological help.

Hi Lola and Maggie! WOW! It has been awhile! I kept checking but neither of you were here so I gave up.

I decided to check and BINGO!!

Hope you both are doing well and had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas.

I wish you both a happy, healthy new year. Can you believe it is 2015?I remember when everyone was worried about Y2K. It seems like just yesterday but that was 15 years ago.

Hope all is well with your mom, Lola.

Keep in touch.....

Julia
