I thought it was one of the most awesome thing I have ever seen in my life. I am 51 years old, and I never thought I would see this special moment come to the United States of America. I knew it could happen, but all good things come in God's time, and it was Barack time. I am grateful. I believe that he will do great. For sure, he can't do no worse than any other president. It is a unexplainable moment.

Thank you, Jim, from Stilesville, Indiana. You are the only one who has recognized that Barack Obama isn't the first "African American" President. He is, in fact, bi-racial - born to a white woman and raised by his white grandmother. I agree that if it were not for the fact that he is part African American, the crowds would not have been so big. I hope he recognizes his true heritage - that being a bi-racial citizen and not just an African American citizen.

THANKS so much for allowing my students the opportunity to come to Conseco and watch the inauguration. The atmosphere was just like being there in person. You have helped provide my students with a great memory and a priceless lesson! I appreciate all the hard work that went in to holding the viewing session at Conseco. THANKS to all the sponsors and those that made it possible! IT WAS GREAT!:)

What, showing kids that if you lie to people long enough and have a liberal press cover your ass, that you can get elected prez. Great lesson lady. What kind of crap are they teaching in that school. You probably also teach these poor kids that there is global warming and showing them that shit Algore put out. You are pathetic and you have done a disservice to your students. America will be sorry for what it did, but more importantly your students are going to have to live with the decisions this communist is making. Heaven help America and your students !

That is why home schooling has become so popular. We don't let the socialist teachers poison our kids minds with this fiction. Condoms, Gays, Global Warming and all the other baloney foisted on kids at inappropriate age levels and propagating pure fiction.

no there were only 800,000 in attendance when clinton was inaugurated. there wouldnt be. brainwashed fools voting for a man because he is the closest thing to 'looking' like a black man. AND HE ISNT EVEN BLACK. this was the underlying tone of the election. THIS is rascism at it worst.

Jim, if you honestly believe Barack is not black by American standards then I have a bridge to sell you in Manhattan. Racial identity within this country is still in many ways tied to slavery. To keep Africans marginalized within this society strict rules were drawn delineating blacks with the “one drop rule”. The funny thing about this strict structure is the culture it created. Instead of Africans coming to this country clinging to tribal origin and culture a new Pan African culture was created (ie: me verses them). This culture has been passed down, assisted in many ways by Caucasian view points. The 2000 census was the first opportunity allowing citizens to check more than one racial affiliation. Additionally US society still bases a great extent of racial affiliation on what is evident. Barack looks black consequently he is. Now I won’t argue with you, it would be great if we lived in a society that practices otherwise, a society that celebrated Americanism over all else, however we are still far from this goal. We all wear racial blinders and in many ways harbor mistrust for the other. The sooner the day that we all put that fear behind us and recognize the commonality of humanity the better off we all will be.

One of the better posts ever. A welcome respite from all the racist garbage that's all too prevalent on this forum. Someone offering informative facts rather than closed-minded ranting.
