I very much appreciate having the opportunity to display my artwork in the Leesburg Center for the Arts. The citrus industry is a very important part of
Florida's history and it's
future. I'm most gratified to have it play an important role in my personal life as well.

Bettye Williams is a great Artist and Friend. My wife Kathy and I have known her for over a dozen years. She was one of the first people we meet together on one of our first dates. She was at the Winter Park Art show. I ask her to paint me a painting of a Hog Killing. My date (Kathy) thought I was crazy, but Bettye knew what I was talking about. And several months later I had my painting.
As a wedding present I gave Kathy a painting of Bettye's Repent and be Baptized.
I could listen to her stories for hours.
We invited her to our wedding, but she said she couldn't come. " Because every wedding she attended the couple always ended up Divorced."

A joy to see beautifully done citrus scenes of yester-year. Happy to see Bettye Williams' artwork and proud to own a few of her art pieces.

Many thanks to Amy for the opportunity to view some of Bettye William's beautiful works of art! I would encourage all ages to enjoy the artwork right here in Leesburg. Bettye's artwork tends to refresh 'ole' memories or provide a history lesson!

I would like to thank you for having Bettye Williams' artwork as part of your "tribute" to the role citrus has paid to your area of the state. Her artwork "warms the heart"...as many people have told her...reminding many of days past when life was simpler (better!!). I too own several pieces of her work...after all, I AM her son.

Thanks again for allowing her the opportunity to show her work at your Center for the Arts.
