Why didn't the lady check with her son or daughter to see if her grandson was actually in Canada. Doesn't make sense.

It will make sense to you when you're 85.

Could be possible that if this were a real incident that the "grandson" said something like Mom and Dad don't know and so the grandparent send the money and the parents would never know.

It's really one of the fundamental drivers of the scam.

True. Didn't think of it that way. Guess I am thinking with a 60yr. olds mind. And some days I think about how my parents acted and things they said when they were 60yrs. of age and then oh yes and then I get it. When I think about them and their friends complaining about their aches and pains at that age or forgetful thoughts and words, and now I am that age. Oh yes I do get it :). I do get the maybe why this grand did what she did. Thanks for your wisdom whether you are 60yrs. or younger.

This happened to a 96 year old widow in our neighborhood.
They got her for all of her savings.approxomately $3,000.
She got the same story as the other people, supposedly
from her grandson. We are in a Retirement community
in Columbus,Ga. I dread to think how many elderly people
are the victums.
