What kind of idiot thinks it is possible to get a free puppy shipped to you from Africa. Go to your local SPCA and adopt. It will only cost you have of that and you can help a puppy here in the USA!

My question is why the heck someone would have a puppy SHIPPED to them in the first place? What's wrong with getting a puppy close by? That is terrible strain on any animal to be shipped.

The ad for this came on the Topix classified section. Leading you to believe that someone wanted to adopt puppies for $90 to cover paper work. You then get this saying the puppies are not here in the states but coming from Cameroon. Then they add on another $220. Follow up e mails with additional information pictures and so on. Requesting your selection. Rev Suh must be a real religous man. He prays to the almighty dollar.

You know why this happens? Because people want purebred animals! These scammers are dipping into a market that's obsessed with teacup this or AKC papered that.

What ever happened to the local SPCA or dog animal shelter? You can go there and find all types of dogs (mixed, mutt, or purebred) for nothing more than $65-$100.

I can't say I feel sorry for the people who were scammed. It seems that a little more common sense would have prevented this whole ordeal.

Also people need to stop following Hollywood's trends. Get a mind of your own.

Here's another one I got today,
Hello Dear,
Thanks for your interest in my puppies,These puppies are ready to go only to a loving and a God fearing home but not a breeding home. They are both up to date on shots and are currently 12 weeks old.
Well am currently in African for a mission here in Christ embassy(you can see the link at http://www.christembassychurch.com/ or http://www.christembassyhealingschool.org/ ).I came down here with the puppies and later found out that i will be too busy for them and had to get them a new home in back in the state cause i dont feel confortable having Africans adopt my puppies as they wont be able to pick out the cost to take care of the breed,so really want them back in the state asap so i can have the time for the ministry.Let me know how soon you can afford them cause am ready to get them thier prefered homes asap,i already got the shipping arrangements, and shipping from Africa to the state will cost you $290 for each puppy.
Also get back to me with the informations below cause it will be needed for the delivery:
Nearest airport..........
Address..........
Name of who will be picking the puppies at the airport
Direct contact #.........
Additional information on Jackie and Suzie:
Registered/registerable (AKC, NKC, etc.),
Veterinarian examination, Health certificate, Health guarantee,Up to date on shots
jackie and Suzie are both tiny and cute, hair is thick, body and legs short, baby faced with stand up ears. Mom weighs 3.5 lb. Dad weighs 3 lb. Suzie and Jackei are currently 1.1lbs.
God Bless You
Thomas Goodwill

People seem to be pretty judgemental on the victims of these scams. Tina916 is correct in that these people want purebred animals. Personally, if you are going for one of the "bully" breeds, you do NOT want to buy from the SPCA or a backyard breeder. You don't know the history - which breeders supply in abundance. You want to ensure that the dog is well bred and not bred just to be tough looking or to fight. In Canada, there aren't very many breeders for staffys, for example, which leads some people to look overseas. I haven't been victimized by a scam (yet), but I feel for these people. They want a good, healthy dog of a particular breed (and what's wrong with that?!?) and are willing to pay for it and someone takes advantage of them. They do not, in my opinion, "deserve" it. No one dserves to be ripped off.
