The founders did not want a tax on wages, they intended to tax business income (investments, stocks, bonds, etc).

When you tax wages a worker gives an hour of work for less than an hour of pay. If your hour of work is worth $10 and it is taxed at 35% then you just gave $10 worth of labour and recieved $7.50.

That is the basic principal that Snipes was standing up for.

I dont know about the racist part of the statement, but I do know that Joe Lewis had tax troubles and from the little study I have done on the subject did not deserve them. From what I know the IRS did 'crucify' him.

From what I know about what Wesley Snipes did he was trying to stand up against the legality of income taxes on wages. It's my understanding that there is no law that says it is legal for the govt to tax wages. In addition it is my understanding that the 16th Amendment never recieved enough signatures to be ratified, yet for some reason our courts enforce it as if it was law.

Then there is the issue of the amount income taxes collected annually being roughly equal to the interest we pay to the Federal Reserve. Why? The constitution gives the Treasury the power to print currency, so why are we paying the Federal Reserve, a private company, BILLIONS to print our money?

The issue with Snipes is not that he is cheap, lazy, or criminal. It is my understanding he was trying to make a stand but got beat down by the IRS and eventually gave up.
