This should have been voted on by the whole town. The Board of Education is thinking of money not the message they are sending to the students.

Be happy the kids can be proud of a movie actually being made in town for cripes sake.

What's the big deal? It's not their school anymore, it's not anyone's school. It is nothing more than a big empty building and now someone is going to pay the town to use it. How can anyone even have a problem with this? Bring a little life into this sleepy part of Connecticut.

Well said...not only will Craven be paying a stipend, but this crew will need to eat and sleep somewhere, right? Probably right within this region...that will help boost the area's economy. The $30K to help the school budget, the people coming to town to help the overall economy...win-win situation as I see it. Give it a chance...the building is sitting fallow right now not doing ANYONE any good...why not let it make a couple extra bucks that are desperately needed!

This is a great opportunity for our town and there will not be a "bad message" sent to kids... all gory scenes or scary scenes will be filmed outside and off school premises the only thing they are using the school for is to show a normal school setting and they are using the varsity soccer field... great way for the town to make money while they are considering what to do with the facility

I had to giggle about the wrong message being sent to our children comment. There are so many incredibly wrong messages being sent to our children, some from their own parents, and this movie is a problem? I don't think so. Filming a movie in town isn't any kind of message. If you think it will bother your child then don't let them see it. It's going to be rated R so they shouldn't be seeing it anyway.

Anyway, does anyone know when they will be filming it? I went to hs there many years ago and I loved Wes Craven when I was teenager. I'd love to try to get a glimpse of what is going on.

The State Dems promote tax breaks to the movie industry, Tolland has a representitive who is Jim Amann's lackey and Tolland get $37K. What a deal, you people are walking around with one eye shut. Wake Up!!!
