Thanks for posting this link to this book. The book is structured on a false reading of economics and history, but it has influenced a lot of people who haven't read Adam Smith. It leads them to a flawed idea of capitalism.<quoted text>
Read the book. It is Planned Chaos by economist Ludwig Von Mises.
It's not a very long book, but it sure explains a lot - and you can print it out here - for free...
Because so few Americans (especially in Congress) have read the Bible on capitalism, we have a greed-inducing form that is best called "Corporatism." Adam Smith warns against the role that what we consider "sins" can play in a capitalist system if they are inadequately controlled.
In particular, Smith explains why it is necessary for the wealthiest in a society to play the bulk of the taxes to run that society.
Anybody who wants to read the two books on which American Capitalism is based should follow these links:
A Theory of Moral Sentiments:
An Inquiry into the Nature and Cause the Wealth of Nations:
Smith explains the great thinking behind a capitalist nation thriving along Christian principles.
Thanks again for the link to opinionated Von Mises book!
