I hope this time around we get a union at BGE. As an employee, over the years I have lost more than I have gained. They cut pensions, they cut benefits they cut workers. The fact is we all work for a company in an at will state, with no real job security. The leaders make mistakes and it trickles down hill with cuts given to the employee.

BGE wants flexibility, in their way only. They want total control over the employee and no real job security.

Recent statements from BGE leaders stated that the best job security is a strong company. Well Mayo almost bankrupted the company by wheeling and dealing. So how can heir be job security for the employee if the employee has no direct control over how the company operates.

As I write this CEG bought Boston Generation Co. Again, Mayo takes the profits from subsidiaries and uses that to buy more power plants with no real dollars to upgrade or maintain the system. So when he screws up, the employee will yet again have to suffer. 800 jobs were laid off, some were shared BGE/CEG employees, because leadership drove the company to the ground.

Real job security is a written agreement and the strength backing the employee from injustices at work by leaders.

The union is a joke. B.G.E treats us great, only the older lazy workers want it, the people who have never worked anywhere else and dont know how good we have it here, on top of that they have probably never worked for the union before. I have been in the union and its stupid, I left there to come here for the simple fact B.G.E isnt union. Im a grown man, I shouldnt need to pay to work so the union and the democrates can reap the rewards, on top of that I think Iím old enough to speak for myself I dont need a middle man to talk to my boss for me (what is this kindergarden) grow up.!!!! B.G.E UNION FREE!!!!
