Amazing how idiots seem to always drag politics into a story that has NOTHING to do with politics.

This story is about mostly greedy litigants looking for a quick easy payday.

Does it matter what political party, race, culture, etc..., you are a part of? I don't think so. Greedy is greedy. Period.

BE FOR REAL! During these hard times I can’t believe that the Orlando Sentinel would stoop so low as to run such an article on any particular company, especially the number one employer in are area. During these hard times the Orlando Sentinel should put front page the fun times folks are having at these great resorts. I expect to see an in-depth front page story next week on the Orlando Sentinel and the Tribune Companies regarding the lawsuits Sam Zell has ongoing. Fair is fair!

Cities have some of the same problems. Fall over a crack on a sidewalk ?$5000 will be yours by filing an injury complaint as its cheaper to pay you off
than go to court. An attorney in St Cloud loved sidewalk injuries in the 1980's when he first got started. Reporter should check and see how many claims for slip and fall injuries have been paid in the various cities in Central Florida.

If people who sued and lost had to pay court expenses, many would think twice before holding out their hand.

I have not sympathy for these morons who sue. Signs of attrations are cleary posted about things like motion sickness, high blood pressure, ect. Now things like horses breaking loose and stampedeing a crowd, sure you have lawsuit there but these slip and falls and "Gee, I threw up after your ride" is pure hogwash.

But the trail lawyers support democrats and they are the ones fighting against tort reform. This affects every industry, especially the medical industry. John Edwards made millions off of frivolous lawsuits like these. Republicans are the ones trying to stop these types of lawsuits.

I agree with you! People are getting lawsuit-crazy, anymore. And from what I've seen, when people go on vacation, many of them seem to leave their brains at home, if they had any brains to begin with! I mean, you go on a water ride, guess what, it's gonna be wet! Go on a roller coaster, you're going to be riding at high speeds, go up and down, etc; maybe if you have a bad back, you MIGHT not want to go on the ride? But there I go again, assuming that people should use common sense...

In 1971 a woman was thrown off her mule at WDW[Walt Disney World] and receive $41, 084.03 even though WDW filmed her going around town afterwards shopping.

Of the 101 lawsuits filed between 2004 - 2008 against WDW, none have gone to trial.

WDW has deep pockets and can drag out a law suit for a long, long time.

I got sued myself, it was only for a piddling sum,guy came thousands of miles, trial lasted 30 minutes and the plaintiff got zippo.

Once asgain, irresponsible slanderism by the daily rag we call the Sentinel. When theme parks are hurting, let's kick them one more time. When schools don't have enough revenue, let's try to put an even deeper dent in the local economy. Do I think lawsuits are necessary? Seldom if ever.

Do I think people are lawsuit-happy? Most of the time!!

And I cannot fathom the mentality of the editorial staff that considers this item front-page news. The theme parks have brought jobs and tax revenue into the local coffers for over 30 years.

And people get injured everyday in their own homes. Sue the builders?

I was involved in a P.I. case a few years ago with a large church
open an shut in my behalf. The church called rescuee for me without my consent I went to the hospitol thinking they would be handling the bill, it was their fault after all.after 3 years we came to numbers I thought. I needed an accountant after that long a periode my settlement just looking for hospital an Drs. be paid the 20,000 did not cover all my bills another $8,000 were still in collection that I was not aware of that the church was holding out on me. This was the hardest thing I ever want to decide ever. What made it was when the church asked me to put in a false claim to my employer, possibly going to jail that would have made it easy for them to win.I'm glad I did this but at the same time ashamed.
