And now the great entertainer Hank Thompson is in hospice care. We're losing the great ones and most of this new country music is cookie cutter bubblegum crap!

Yes, hats off to a great country legend!! I am so very glad I had the opportunity to meet this man and see him perform. He was very down to earth and comical; he gave me some laughs to take along in life that I have shared many times. I have photos from a concert many years ago; true when they say, "how time flies". I have no doubt he is in Heaven, he was very much a spiritual man.
I enjoyed his tv show, that had many country greats.
and of course Dolly was a big part of his shows.
I especially enjoyed the spiritual song segments.
I don't know how this topic ended up here, Porter should have his own!

yeah, I agree with you Bill, country music isn't what it used to be. I think it needs a new genre title today....lol.
There is none like Hank Williams, George Jones, Johnny Cash,
Patsy Cline, and good old Porter Wagoner. The real country singers are so far and few between what is heard today.
And now I hear "country rap", this is a load of crap and disgraces country music. It is either classified as "country" or "rap",how in the world do you combine the two?? Really!!!!!!!! It's a total
"NO GO". They need to bring back the real country music!!
