Surprised not to see any reviews posted here ...
Sammy put on an awesome show, I would have paid to see him but somehow he got beneath the radar and showed up at Speaking Rock! The show was over at 11 and the place was about half full.
The show was really different, if you follow Sammy, you know he has several rows of fans actually on stage behind him, as well as sexy strippers who serve him drinks during the show, and lots of tequila drinking all during the show (although I didn't see anyone really Drunk Drunk)

Sammy Hagar is the ultimate showman, he can still sing all the high notes, play guitar with the best of them, run all around, crack jokes and tell great stories, drop f bombs, p bombs, sign autographs while singing, and just emanating happiness. When I realized he's well over 60, I was freaked out. How did all these years pass?

They say the best place to see Sammy is in Cabo San Lucas. I hope I can make one of those shows before time runs out. Viva Sammy!

Sammy was good and there were plenty of swaying drunks to keep security busy.

Has anyone else wondered how Speaking Rock is managing to pay for all of this?

Free concerts are becoming more popular in lots of places due to the lagging economy. Frankly, Sammy can probably afford it lots better than most musicians with the $80 million in Campari money he got for Cabo WAbo tequila and the royalties pouring in from his many top 10 hits. But he probably got all the take from the tequila sales, and a percentage of other beverage sales. Then the casino itself probably kicks in a bit just because it's good marketing and brings people in to the "entertainment center" (sorry).

So you say there were some drunks around, well at least no one threw up on me lol.

It was a hell of a good time.

I've heard the price for Poison was $68,000.00. That is a lot of liquor sales. Does anyone know if Speaking Rock is under TABC jurisdiction and paying gross sales tax on liquor?

68k worth of alcohol sales does seem kind of high for a Poison concert, but it's not impossible. A reservation is like a sovereign nation and I doubt it they have to pay the tax. That's probably one of the reasons John Cornyn went after the Tiguas when he was Tx atty gen 10 years ago, with disastrous results for them as we all know.

Wait, how did a Sammy Hagar review become a political discussion?
But you have a point - these cool freebies are costing somebody some money ...
